Over priced bar food, service was ok. To big to be cozy. I can name a lot of places in Morgantown that I would rather go for a drink and wings.

I know I’m long winded so I’ll give my summary first. I have eaten pretty much all non-seafood on their menu and everything has been delicious, service is great, I highly recommend trying this place. On the rare chance you have a bad experience the first time I would try it a second time. Restaurant /Service The restaurant has always been clean when we have went there. It’s a sports bar and laid out as such, but the seating isn’t shoved together so you have room to move. The road to get to it if we had a bad snow, I’m sure is not a fun drive. It would be nice if the entity that owned the road would paint lines on it so you knew if it was a 2 – 4 lane, turning lane or whatever The road is steep and sharp curves and it’s interesting watching some cars try to figure out where they should be driving at but that has nothing to do with the restaurant just trying to get there. We have only had two bad experiences with staff. The first time we went there the waitress was horrible, but before we could say or do anything a manager came over and apologized that our waitress was new and she was having some issues adapting. He pretty much waited on us the rest of the trip. It’s rare you see management being pro-active. About six months later we had our other bad experience where the waitress was inattentive and my entire party went 5 – 10 minutes needing refills so we complained to a manager that walked by. He talked to the waitress and blamed us(all grown adults) for her lack of waiting on us. Luckily, another manager overheard his conversation and stepped in. I haven’t seen the first manager there since then and the staff has been pretty much attentive to our needs since then. Another thing that impressed me was that every time I go there I try something else. My wife went there with her parents and I wanted to try this fiesta(not sure if that was the name) flatbread that was on their menu when we were there a few weeks earlier. It was a seasonal item so I had her to get me something I already tried. When my wife got home she said that the waitress asked the chefs and they had the ingredients still to make it so they did. I hate pizza /bread but that was the most delicious flatbread I ever ate and they went the extra step to get me what I asked for. They also have an awards program that is apparently very good but I know very little about it except for the wife gets all giddy when she checks in. Apparently we have gotten a lot of discounts from eating here a lot. The only part I remember is that for every $ 200 you spend you get $ 10 reward that can go towards your next bill, merchandise, etc. Food I can’t say enough good things about the food. The burgers, fries, ribs… the ribs, meat falls off the bone and great sauce. Both times I got them I had to force myself to eat them slow because I didn’t want the taste to go away. I was hesitant to buy the steak because the price was lower than some of the other items on the menu and the adage you get what you paid for went through my head. A few months ago the price was a little higher(still cheaper than most chain restaurants) so I figured I have ate most things I need to try it. I always get my steak well done. When I got the steak it was perfectly cooked, only a small piece on the tip had char on it but I couldn’t have asked for a better cooked steak. There is only one restaurant in the Fairmont-Morgantown area that I would say has a better steak. When I compare the cost vs taste difference. The taste wasn’t that far off and under ½ the cost so Greene Turtle for the win. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich has been the only thing that I have bought that I won’t eat again. It was good and I will recommend people try it once, but there are too many other things that are just far more superior than this sandwich. The final thing I will say about the food is that I hate seafood. I will eat LJS fish if someone can’t eat their entire order as it doesn’t taste fishy but that’s it. I’ve also had things with Old Bay seasoning and do not care for the taste of it. I was determined to eat something there that would taste bad so I could say they were not perfect. The Beer Battered Fish and Chips is cod wrapped in a ¼″ to ½″ layer of Yuengling beer batter and fries are heavily coated in Old Bay seasoning. I did sub extra fries for slaw(I can’t eat things that are not pretty). The only unenjoyable thing about this meal was the wife complaining she doesn’t like the smell of fish. The seasoning on the fries highly complemented the fish. Despite my attempt to find something that I don’t like, I failed.

Good food and good service. Great view from the bar. Love the tacos and Fleet Street chicken.

Went there yesterday evening with some friends. Medium crowd. Waitress took our drink order and returned about ten minutes later with our drinks. Came back about ten minutes later to take our food order. It was probably another 25 – 30 minutes before the food showed up. My fries were room temperature and the fish was waaaay overcooked. The batter was almost black in color and they were seasoned so heavily with Old Bay seasoning, it overpowered the fish. Had to peel the batter off to get rid of the burnt taste. Cole slaw had no flavor at all. Definitely over-priced. Service was terrible, food was even worse. Wont be back. ** I was there just a few minutes after 7:00 pm until about 8:15

Well I am hoping that once I update this review it will not get filtered. I believe this review encapsulates our experiences. The food can absolutely be great! Crab dip is awesome, buffalo nachos are very good as well. But on other days, the same order can be not good at all. Service has been hit or miss. Overall the reviews are spot on. My wife and I have been here about 4 times since it has opened. Our first time it was excellent, food was fresh, service perfect. We were excited to come back, only to be profoundly disappointed. Waited 10 minutes to be seated, despite the tables being half empty. Once seated, we waited nearly 20 min until a server came by, again not too busy… and we were in the middle of the bar area. Our next experience was great, we had some time to kill and got the buffalo chicken nachos — awesome! we went back two weeks later, and they were subpar at best. Literally, five pieces of chicken(½ the size of a chicken nugget). Service was not good. 14 tables were open just in the main area, though we were told it would be a 40 min wait. So we went to the bar, and asked the bartender what ciders they had on tap. She wasn’t listening well and served bottles instead. We ended up only waiting about 6 minutes, so our bar drinks were not ready before we sat. The toughest part was when the manager, came by and we explained the nachos, were really just a bunch of chips and nothing else(which you could see), he just said that the kitchen has parameters in making the dishes. He offered to take the nachos off the bill, which was fine with us, but he only took 80% off of the cost. In summary the place is inconsistent, and you just have to take your chances on both service and food. So all of the 5 star and 1 star reviews are correct — just depends on the day.

FIRSTTRY: Tried it a few months ago. Got the fried pickles and a buffalo chicken sandwich… Nothing too hard to make… or screw up. — fried pickles came out with the chicken sandwich… about 50mins after I sat down. Pickles slid right out of the breading and were cold. — chicken was supposed to have crumbled blue cheese on top… nope. Nothing. Also, the first bite of the chicken was into fat. Then it took 25mins to get the check. — tack on 35mins of waiting to be sat even though there were plenty of open tables. TONIGHT: 29 cent wing special for Feb 29th. Was told the wait was 1hr even though there were only 3 people ahead of us and tons of open tables. — Sat in 20mins so not bad… good so far. — ordered wings, beer, and an appetizer… beer took 15mins. — appetizer arrived 30mins later… not bad but 15 chips and a little bowl of dip isn’t worth $ 10 — 2 hours after sitting down our wings came… TWOHOURS. I ordered 14 wings, so not even a lot… the wife ordered 12. But yeah… two hours. Unacceptable. Since my wife is a doctor and has a job to wake up for in the morning we got the wings, a box, and the check all at once. Didn’t even have time to eat. We were then overcharged by $ 7 for the food and not comp’d anything for the wait or the fact that we never actually got to eat our wings… Never eating there again… wait…nvm…never ordering food from them again… considering I didn’t actually eat there tonight.

The food was pretty good. The sweet potato fries with the caramel sauce were delicious. My cheeseburger was a little crispy. The service was quite slow.

Food is not bad, but not worth the price. The service is terrible, waiter was not attentive, had to approach bar to get napkins, condiments. Not sure where everyone went to, couldn’t even find a manager. Will not be going back. In addition… The mgr on duty… Older, bald gentleman wanted to defend his server… I commend him for that, but treated that as the end of discussion! Server could no wrong, and the mgr came across very rude when even questioning service by this individual!

The location was easy to find and the restaurant is nice and spacious with a long bar and tvs. Waiter was very nice and provided good service. Strawberry mojito was amazing! Bbq chicken flatbread pizza app was delicious! I ordered a turkey wrap with sweet potato fries. And was happy with the food.

Very typical of all large chain restaurants in this area. Does not really differentiate itself from Cheddars, Chilis, Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, etc. It has a very typical menu with their«Niche» being crab cakes. I honestly have not tried their crab cakes but did try their crab dip Flatbread. It was nothing special. Honestly tasted more like tuna salad than crab dip.

The cowboy burger is phenomenal and you need to try it and the Mac and cheese on the kids menu is homemade and really good.

Food was pretty good. I’d skip the crab pizza and go for that crab dip instead — they taste pretty identical — but the soft pretzels that come with the dip are much better. Had the Crabby Mary — flavor was excellent — though I’m not sure I’m a fan of having shreds of crab meat floating in my drink. Bartender was knowledgable and personable and produced a well-made drink. My crab cake came out much smaller than my friend’s, but I wasn’t all that hungry anyway, so it wasn’t an issue at the time. Our waitress was very sweet and efficient. Her name was Kenzie. Highly recommend sitting with her if you have the option. Even though she was spread very thin(she was serving all but three tables on the patio, which was booked full), she still made sure we received our order correctly, and in a timely manner. But biggest/only complaint, and I’m hoping a manager reads this is YOURHOSTESS(Kursten) ISHORRIBLE. She was rude to an older couple — heckling the guy over and over«Where’s your other person?! I can’t seat you unless you have your other person!!»(I’ve NEVER heard of this policy at a restaurant, and I’ve worked in the service industry for a long time. I would NEVER harass a customer like that) Her nagging this poor older gentleman caused a backlog in the waiting area of everyone that had received their texts that it was time to be seated. She had a nasty attitude from the moment we walked in the door. She also over-sat our waitress’s section to the point she begged the hostess to stop giving her tables. At this point my friend and I took a moment to chat with the lovely Kenzie. She’s a sweet girl. If it weren’t for her, I would most likely not be back until that hostess received more training on customer satisfaction.

So my wife had her girls’ night out here a few weeks back and raved about the dinner she had. When the opportunity arose to give it a try, we stopped in as a family. 1. The service was uniformly excellent. Our server was«T», a gracious and pleasant young lady who was really interesting to talk to. Our interaction with her earned most of the stars in this review. The place is covered in huge flatscreens, including one at the head of our booth. There was literally nowhere I could look without seeing a TV. That was a little annoying to me, but YMMV. One cool touch at our booth was a USB charger outlet for phones and tablets. It was a lifesaver for me as my tablet was low. 2. We started off with a crab dip. This was served with salted pretzel sticks. The crab dip was covered by cheese and a healthy layer of Old Bay. The combination was way too salty, until you pared down past the cheese and Old Bay and got to the actual dip. Then it was actually pretty good. 3. I had fish tacos. I should not have ordered these tacos, as they were not to my liking. Each was layered with a huge piece of overcooked, over-seasoned tilapia that was further covered by a spicy crème that added nothing to the dish. The Old Bay on the fish was overpowering, and I like Old Bay generally, but this was just too much. There was some cabbage and avocado that I couldn’t taste because of the fish, and the portion of three huge tacos was way too much. Next time, I’ll order a burger. 4. My son ordered crab soup, but couldn’t get it down. I tasted it; think Campbell’s Vegetable soup with some crab meat thrown in. Not worth the premium price. 5. My wife’s chicken dish was good. I especially liked the balsamic reduction on the chicken. My daughter had mac-and-cheese, and it was actually really good. I tried to trade her, but she’s smarter than that and wasn’t having it. So will we go back? Yes. The menu is intriguing, the service is good, and one time does not a black mark make. I’ll just stay away from Old-Bay-seasoned items and have a burger or something.

My brothers were in town from New Jersey this weekend for my birthday and last night after the game we went out to the Greene turtle for my birthday dinner where I was recommended by my friend who works there. To start off the atmosphere is great and the wait was not long at all. Great sports bar with many tvs and some personal booth tvs. The food all in all was great and came out in a timely manner. I recommend the crab dip as an appetizer! Great food, great service, a little bit off the beaten path but overall an awesome experience!

I haven’t been to Morgantown in a long time and was really surprised at this new addition. Set on top of a hill by Harley-Davidson, this restaurant has beautiful West Virginia views. Televisions everywhere make it the perfect sport watching location. The décor kind of reminds me of a high end irish sports pub. There is a beautiful patio that plays live music on the weekends. I had the pulled pork sliders which were great! It could have used a tad more sauce but the flavor was sweet with just a small amount of heat. The bar is gorgeous and the service was attentive and quick. I will definitely be back for a visit the next time I am in Morgantown.

Upon arriving to the restaurant I was impressed, the inside is a very cool set ups, big TVs and modern decorations. The hosts were very nice and the wait staff was decent but that does not make up for the food. We had the buffalo nachos as ab appetizer and to put it simply, they just did not taste good. I ordered the cowboy burger and was only able to have about 2 bites of it. I said I wanted it super rare, and it was not pink at all. Tasted like a $ 5 meal for $ 20, I will not be returning

I currently live in the DC area where there are a lot of awesome Green Turtles in the VA and MD, so when I heard my hometown was getting one I was pumped! Once I ate there though the excitement disappeared. Waiting 15 minutes for a beer only to find out they are out of it and getting no apology for the wait, ordering chicken tenders only to get 5 chicken«nuggets» instead(asked for the manager who claimed there were 5 pieces of chicken and that’s all that matters), receiving crab dip that had clearly sat under a heat lamp and been served to us with hardened cheese on top, and having waiters apologize for the service of their manager who refused to come out and talk to us claiming«he was too busy». This was over the course of not 1, not 2, but 3visits! I have given this place a chance, I really did. Please review your management staff at this location GT family!!! ~A loyal Mug Club member

Stopped in on the recommendation of a college counselor after moving our daughter into Waynesburg University. We wanted a quiet lunch together while we reminisced about our«baby’s» college freshman year. What we encountered was a superb staff, excellent food, and huge portions! We sat outside and enjoyed the view, while we enjoyed great food and great service. This will definitely be a stop for us in the future!!!

Pros: Great view of Morgantown from atop the mountain. Lots of outdoor seating to take in previously mentioned view. Conveniently located close to the interstate but away from the busy-ness of University Town Center restaurants. Nice looking menu which may have you thinking, «where am I?» because it includes various different seafood dishes such as crab cakes and crab dip. Looked pretty good to me though! Cons: We waited for about 30 minutes for our food, even though they didn’t appear to be that busy. The waitress didn’t provide cutlery and never came back to check on us after the food was dropped off, so we had to grab some forks from the next table over. We also had to grab some ketchup from a service area and we waited for a while for her to bring the check. Other than that, she was nice and friendly. Overall, great atmosphere, but don’t go in a hurry and don’t expect great service.

Love this place. Menu is very creative and food is good. Drink menu is great with local beers and great mix drinks. Good place to watch a game with many TVs. Huge outdoor patio with live music was a pleasant surprise. Service was superb. Coming from a local, this is the best casual, sports bar-type restaurant in town.
