Snotty attitude? Well she didn’t seem to have a snotty attitude? The pepperoni rolls were everything that I didn’t need. A delicious bit of carbacide! I didn’t think the owner was rude or anything she is not from Morgantown I am guessing and maybe has an up North demeanor? With sway she was very kind to me and my family. I will be back for the sandwiches if they taste anything like the pepperoni rolls. I also watched her do a cookie baking thing with a family who had small children. I am not sure if they paid her but it still seemed kind

I’m leaving a 1 star review because the cupcake I just bought tastes like angel food cake. And the icing on it is too much. Very thick, hard, and not very pleasant tasting. I will try something else from there and then update this post at a later date. The service was fine. The girl behind the counter was patient and did her job just fine!

I’ve gotten my birthday cakes at Nonna’s for two years. The first one I got, the cannoli cake, was delicious. The second one was a cake I wanted created. It was meant to be a lemon cake with raspberry swirl. I wanted chocolate ganache, which she said she did not«do», although multiple cakes have it. So I chose her chocolate frosting. Well, when we got it, the cake was horrible, and it was not due to the combo of flavors. Everything tasted processed. This year I went in there to see about a different cake, determined to give them another chance. When I told them about last year’s cake, she interrupted me multiple times saying, «I told you that would be disgusting, you didn’t listen to me». As I kept talking, she kept defending the damn cake, saying it was my fault it was bad. She kept talking about her«European» red cocoa and that I just wasn’t used to flavors other than a grocery store. Now, a bit about me: I’m a mixed European and Middle-Eastern woman. I’ve traveled the globe, and while I don’t have the pleasure of owning a bakery, I do bake. A lot. None of my cakes are processed, and I go out of my way to make unique, great-tasting food. So yes, I do know what European flavors, as well as other cultures, taste like. I enjoyed how she interrupted me multiple times, and proceeded to assume something about my background which she did not know. Ultimately, it is her who lost a customer for calling my idea disgusting. Never mind that there are plenty of recipes for lemon cake with dark chocolate icing you can find online. But I suppose she knows more than a professionally trained pastry chef.

I am not surprised by the bad reviews, as I worked here briefly. The owner, Sandy, has a horrible snotty attitude. The soups are from a bag, and her cakes(when I worked there) were Duncan Hines. I will say, though, that their Greek salad is delicious, although that is pretty hard to mess up. Her pepperoni rolls are delicious as well, and contain salami too. If you don’t walk in with a Mylan badge or in fancy attire, don’t expect great service. The owner is cold and status-oriented, and would benefit greatly by improving her attitude.

A previous reviewer commented that the lady behind the counter(Sandy) was having a bad morning. Well I think every morning and afternoon is bad for her. I am a middle aged well dressed patron who would have spent more and patronized her establishment if she wasn’t so incredibly rude and curt. She argued with me about a WVU home game day and insisted she was right though I knew she was not and tried nicely to suggest she might be mistaken. She was extremely unhelpful when I mentioned this was my first time ordering from Nonnas when one would think an owner would be pleased at getting new business. I spoke to others after my experience and the consensus is that none of us will go back because of her rudeness. You can check my other reviews– try to be as fair as possible. Fair to me is warning others – not worth the hassle to do business here. Plenty of other friendly options with excellent product in Morgantown.

The sandwiches and pastries were delicious. Homemade food fresh ingredients piled on top of fresh baked bread and you have one awesome sandwich. The pastries were great as well I did have to deduct a star because both times I went in and wanted to try the lobster bisque they were out and to me if you keep running out of something I am sure is as delicious as the sandwiches I gotta take away some points for my misery and sadness. The owners was there and she was awesome and great to talk to. This place is a nice lunch spot run by some truly friendly and genuine people.

Actually went to the High street location. The sandwich was slammin. The fresh bakery bread was the kicker. Generous portion and fair price. Also indulged in a strawberry/cream cheese pastry that was excellent. I really liked the made to order aspect… nothing is as good as a toasted sammi.

Nonna’s Nonna’s Nonna’s Nonna’s Nonna’s Nonna’s Nonna’s. This is what goes through my head whenever I think of sandwiches. Nonna’s belongs in the Sandiwch and Pastry Pantheon, and it is times like this that make me hate Unilocal.Nonna’s is one of those places that words cannot describe. Its the kind of place where you see someone take a bite of their food — and see the look of a soul being warmed — and just know that you are in for something wonderful. The breads and pastries are all prepared on site in this little local venture. And I must say, they do it right. Nonna’s also have above average soups, but sandwiches are the way to go when you come here. Sandwich and a pasty. As far as pastries, they have everything from madeleines to éclairs, cookies, cakes and tarts. And everything is perfect. Another added bonus(for me, at least) to Nonna’s is that they keep the place cold, so it feels amazing in the summer. The atmosphere is quite nice, as well. Its not dissimilar from an Ottolenghi, only more intimate. The best part is, a lot of people from Morgantown don’t even know this place exists, so it’ll be our little secret.

Nonna’s has the absolute best sandwiches in town. It takes a bit longer than most places, but the food is excellent — fresh bread, fresh meat, and made to perfection. Also, the Italian pastries make a great dessert.
