Coming back from Joshua Tree National Park and we happened upon Willies. The service was excellent and the BBQ is some of the best we’ve had! The pork ribs were fantastic, and we left with plenty of leftovers. I would HIGHLY recommend this as a stop for anyone going into or coming out of the park!

This business is under mew ownership. They opened about 2 – 3 weeks ago. My visit was on 2÷27÷16. Service was prompt and cheerful. I ordered a half order of ribs. They were ample and delicious with a sweet hot sauce and smoke flavor. Side was beans and sweet potato fries, both awesome. Will I recommend it to friends, you bet. Will I return, absolutely.

Bbq was amazing!!! The staff was friendly and helpful. Wish i lived closer to come by more. The pulled pork sandwhich special is a MOST!!! Sliders were good also(had half pork half brisket). Mac and cheese tasted home made.

Under new ownership. We stopped here on our way through the desert hoping to enjoy their great menu for Valentine’s day. Such a disappointment. It was the soft grand reopening. What a weekend to chose to offer a limited menu. Although we were warned that the kitchen was backed up, had to wait an hour for the food to come out. I am glad that they did do away with the corseted ladies but there was no musical entertainment, which is customary for the weekend. Had to ask for everything from our waitress. No silverware, no refills, no BBQ sauce! Observed at least 3 parties walking out before ordering.. hopefully they will bring back the full menu and get it together!

Ended up here by accident but was completely blown away by the service and the food. The staff was really attentive and genuine. And the food was quite tasty. I only had the brisket sandwich but it was a great(not too big or heavy). And the sweet potato fries are super tasty.

Just ordered food from here. Not only did they not get my order correct they didn’t give me one of my sides and our food was cold and fries were soggy!!! The manager has promised to make this situation right. If it’s made right I will change my review and will give it a second chance.

The owner of Willie Boys does not need your business. Direct quote from the owner. This evening I went to Willie Boys Saloon with my family. Our server immediately left a bad taste in my mouth. No personality and not friendly at all. We had an issue with the bill and when my mother-in-law brought this to the servers attention he told her that she should have told him earlier. The situation would be hard to explain. When she mentioned it again he was very rude and short with her. She asked if he was the manager and apparently, he was the owner. She approached him away from the table to discuss the matter. I did not hear the conversation but just this guys smug face made me want to punch him. When she came back to the table she told us he had said we were trying to take advantage of him and that he didn’t need our business. Since he does not need our business no tip was left. Keep in mind this was all over $ 7. It wasn’t about the money, it was about the customer service. You are not a big chain restaurant, you are a local business and should be grateful for every customer that walks in your door. For this man to be the owner and treat his customers with such blatant disrespect is appalling. I was so disappointed because this was my first time there and I will never be returning. Please keep in mind before you visit Willie Boys that the owner does not need your business.

The bowl of chili is out of this world. I’ve been coming here for Sunday line dance with Big John and Sandy, always a fun time. Staff is friendly and attentive and the music is always good. yee haa!

Came in with my family and they happened to have a music performance. It was nice because it kept the kids entertained. The pool room was a little dumpy because every single arcade game they had was broken. They always set up the bull riding for us with no problems(we are a rowdy crowd lol) and they will set up karaōke for you too, which is always a fun and entertaining time with drunk people. They make good drinks, the food is really good, especially the mac n cheese, hot wings and brisket! We are always surprised at how cheap our bill is when we leave this place, which is nice. The servers and bartender are always so friendly and accommodating. The restrooms could use some attention, but over all, I am a fan of Willie Boys!

I’m always up to trying something out of the fast-food norm when on a trip. So decided to explore this place. Nice place with a Wild West«saloon» appeal to it. WB signature Sandwich(Brisket) hit the hungry spot. Place is a bit run down, but I think it adds to the appeal for what it is. Most Arcades were out of order, and they have a riding bull, not sure if it works though. Lost a star for the restroom conditions-It’s my pet peeve.

Been here a few times. Gluten free options are available; I’m not sure they’re Celiac certified but if you’re wheat free the menu is easy to navigate. The drinks and appetizers are good and the prices are reasonable. Checked out breakfast on Sunday and really enjoyed the pulled pork burrito(I left off the tortilla) and my other half got the chorizo burrito. Both were tasty and the portions were large(we both took half home). I’ve never been for the nightlife, but if I’m not in a hurry it’s a funky place for a bite!

Two issues. 1. Intentionally deceptive advertising. 2. A condescending, patronizing response from the manager even after admitting to the deception. The details: they offer a «2 for 1» special, charge full price for the entrée but cut back the portions 25%. The menu says nothing about this & shows the price which we were charged & states the full portions. When I pointed it out to the mgr., he was smug & said«you’re the only one that’s said anything. It’s still a good deal.» But it’s a deceptive act & misleads in order to make a buck. «I’ll tell the cook,» he says, as if the cook makes these decisions. «Are you going to make it right?» I asked. «Do you want 2 more pieces of fish?» I could see my wife’s embarrassment & humiliation. «Sure», I said. He turned, unapologetic, & headed for the kitchen. I put $ 30 cash on the table & we left. We were regulars but I doubt we’ll be back.

Wonderful venue for the roller derby after party last weekend. Our group rolled in with more patrons than expected, from 30 to over 50. Short-staffed upon our arrival, the co-owner, Curtis, helped us at the bar when no one was available, accommodating all our hunger and thirst. He juggled the situation very well. The décor likens to the western saloons of old, down to faux balconies and paintings. Mechanical bull was available for the brave. The rib-eye was juicy and delicious, though cooked slightly more than I asked, understanding the sudden increase in patrons we provided. The steamed vegetables, a little soggy, was also tasty. I would definitely stop here again.

WENTHEREINHONOROF BroTha!!! BACKGROUND: Locally owned and operated Willie Boys is Morongo Basin’s hottest, «new country» nightclub. The brassy yet classy authentic saloon interior with our huge dance floor. Enjoy a comfortable environment to have fun, dance to Country, top 40 dance, classic party rock and socialize. Willie Boys is honored to provide our guests delicious food and our unbeatable food and drink prices! STATS: Mon-Thurs 11 am — 10pm or later Fri — Sat 8 am — 2 am Sun 8am — 12am Serving Breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8am– 12pm Live music 5:30 — 9:30 pm, Fri-Sat Karaōke 9pm-close Fri & Sat Free parking on-site Interior is open and roomy Full liquor bar Very large dance floor Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating Playroom EXPERIENCE: Wow!!! Stepping into Willie’s is like stepping into an old western movie. The interior is huge, with high A-framed roof, hardwood floors, a long bar with bar stools and a full array of alcohol, wooden picnic tables framing the dance floor, and an eating area off to one side. Old western pics of men and women dressed in period pieces, single doors with small balconies, high above, fill the eating area. When we walked in the place was virtually empty, only a few customers at the bar. We were given menus and seated. We put in our tasty beverage order and looked over the food menu. We made our decisions and waited and waited… for our drinks. Finally, what seemed to be an eternity, our drinks were delivered. The restaurant floor plan is open concept, so I was able to see the server. She spent way too much time chatting with other customers, probably regulars. That’s what the delay was, because as soon as she got herself over to the bar, our drinks were up in sheer moments. We tried to chat her up about the menu, but she really wasn’t having it. We ordered our food. In addition to an entrée, I ordered fries to hold us over till our food came. I specifically asked to have them delivered as quickly as they are prepared. Did that happen? No, of course not. Oy!!! Three of the four of us finally got our food and we waited an additional five minutes for SisTa’s food to be served. Meanwhile, our food got cold. «Food served in waves» as fellow Unilocaler Rohlin A. says, something both of us dislike. Our orders(came with two sides, except the burger, which came with only one side) House Burger — fries Half BBQ Chicken-Corn on the cob & Cornbread St Louis Ribs-Slaw & fries Chicken fried steak– corn bread & mac & cheese Needless to say, our food wasn’t all that good, fries came with the food, not before the food, asked twice for a side of ranch dressing, entrees were room temperature, if that, my ribs and fellow hikers burger were both dry, chicken was ok, says SisTa, and fellow hiker had a difficult time cutting his fried steak. Don’t even get me started on the cornbread. Oy!!! Desert sand in the shape of a square. That’s all I have to say about that. In the end, I was hotter than our food. I don’t get upset very easily or very often, but it was one disastrous moment after another. SisTa was bummed too because she picked the place in honor of BroTha who had gone home after our Main Event. Can’t give full disclosure on the connection, but there is one. Will we be going back, definitely not. Service and food were both bad. What else can I say? I think I’m done here.

Definitely seems to be the hit of the town for nightlife. However, I went for a late lunch on a weekday and didn’t get to experience any of the fun. Not much staff was there and the one waitress was a tad slow. The BBQ is excellent but the bread gets soggy very quickly. I got the big willie burger with the brisket. Restrooms needed a LOT of attention so do any necessary business before or after! Would want to go back sometime for some honky tonk action or some mechanical bull riding. Seems like a fun place for drinks, dancing, and entertainment!!! Looked like an awesome beer selection. So the two stars is really only based on food and the lunch atmosphere.

One of the most phenomenal bbq joints I have ever been to. If you are on the way to Joshua Tree or Pioneer Town this is an absolute must stop. The venue itself has live music on the weekends, a mechanical bull, pool tables and arcade games that don’t work :( I had the Morongo Mac daddy. brisket over mac n cheese and coleslaw. I switched the bun out for texas toast(which is an absolute must do). It’s not a sandwich you can fit into your mouth so it cut it all up and it is FANTASTIC. The flavors are so rich and with it all chopped up there are so many different textures that go well, the hot mac n cheese with the cool coleslaw piled with tender brisket and buttery toast, I’m drooling just thinking about it. The baked beans are excellent as well! We actually went back later that night to see band and they have a DUI van that will come pick you up and take you home free of charge +tip. The staff is AWESOME and they are super friendly– definitely a great place to go if you are having a mini vacay from the city.

This was my second visit to Willie Boys, and, most likely, my last. When my wife and I arrived for a late lunch /early dinner, there was one large group sitting together, and two or three other tables with a couple of people each at them; in other words, not really all that busy. We made our way up to one of the half-booths along the wall near the bar, and nearly stepped in some sort of food spill(see photo). It looked like mashed potatoes and some chunks of mystery meat. Not really all that appealing to look at. We figured the spill must have just happened, and sat down. And waited. And then waited some more. All while staring at the food spill in front of us. Finally, a waitress who appeared to be the only employee in the place brought us menus and took our drink order. Wife ordered a quesadilla and a Coors Light, while I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and a Shiner Bock. Much to our surprise, the food came out blazingly fast. Wife said her quesadilla was okay. The meat on my sandwich was definitely fattier than I was expecting, and the fries were a little undercooked. We each finished our beer about midway through our meals, and slid the empty glass to the edge of the table(international code for«I’ll have another, please»). Still, the waitress didn’t come by again until we were almost done eating. By this time, a couple of people came in and Tom(manager? owner?) came out to greet them and show them to a table near us. In so doing, Tom and the man in the couple both almost stepped in the food spill. The man pointed the spill out to Tom, and asked to be seated somewhere else. We were there another 15 – 20 minutes after that, and the food spill was still there when we left. I can’t help but wonder that if they would leave something like that sitting out in plain view for over an hour, what goes on in the kitchen that I can’t see?
