They have a great outdoor patio but the crowd isn’t always the best. The only reason I keep coming back is because of the Bloody Mary bar they have on Sunday’s for the football game. There is a rumor if you guess the right amount of pennies on the bar you can drink for free for a year

This place sucks. They have a list of craft beers hanging from the ceiling but said — «don’t look at it, it’s wrong». When asked what they had on tap that was local the bartender said — well one of these is from Michigan– but I don’t know what it is. No food on Mondays. They do have Bell’s beers.

Positive… I really like this bar. Nice layout with big outdoor patio. Very clean. Good bartenders. Negative… The food needs help! Burgers aren’t very good. Chicken wings tasted like freezer burn. I don’t say this to rip them apart, but hopefully they take this and improve. I think they have a good thing that could be better.

We were passing thru the Morris area on a Sat. late afternoon I’m May & were hungry. Unilocal showed a couple of candidates, we chose Red Cent because the description said it has west facing windows and it was almost sunset. First thing we saw was their huge outside seating area, we took two stools at the big unused bar. About two dozen others were scattered around the bar & tables, some with Harley apparel. after a few minutes we realized that today we need to order at the bar(which is covered in copper red pennies.) The bartender helped us narrow our beers to a great Church Street Scottish Rye from the Itasca brewer. The menu is basic pub food, no counting calories here. We ordered an appetizer shrimp, fries and an italian beef for the two of us. Six well done breaded & fried shrimp came with cocktail sauce(personally I like char on food so that they were well done was OK). The huge basket of crinkle cut fries were crispy outside & soft in, just right. The grilled italian sausage was good, the bread had some half melted shredded mozzarella on it which is kinda weird, but with their spicy gardineria all was good. We drank, ate and totally enjoyed the outdoor space. From the size if the outdoor area I’d guess they get a good crowd there when the weather is nice. We’d return anytime.

The positives — sunlight with the western exposure. Tin ceilings. Best bar? Not on the day we went. We thought we’d try out their dinner menu, so I ordered a beer that came in nearly flat from the tap. Sam Adams would be po’ed if he knew his beer was being served like this. We ordered dinner, including their fried pickels, which were recommended by other reviewers. Imagine our surprise when the dinner arrives, sans the fried pickles. The server owned up to not hearing it, which is okay, but I gave him that order before I gave him my dinner order, so WTH? We were recognized as soon as we walked in the door, and were given menus after asking for them. My burger was juicy, and was served well-done. It seems kind of barbaric to take a burger to that level of done-ness. The better half ordered the Monte Cristo, and said it was freshly cooked corned beef. You can get horseradish sauce with the Monte Cristo. We finished our drinks, and hustled out. It’s okay, but the best bar? I’m not thinking so.

Best bar in Morris! The bartenders are amazing, the have a great selection of spirits and beers. Very clean, great bar food especially the fried pickles. My favorite is the Tito’s mule. Sunday’s they have a «Build your own Bloody Mary» bar with a great selection of tasty Bloody Mary mixers and cheeses. Has a jukebox, dart board and pool table.

Not sure about the food, BUT this is the only bar I go to when I’m in Morris. Seems up-to-date, offers an impressive variety of beers, and the bartenders aren’t completely ignorant. The music selection kind of sucks, but the ambiance and booze is good. Worth a visit!!!

Along with the Sandlot, this is easily one of the best bars in Morris. Very laid back atmosphere with a nice inside. One of the bartenders there is extremely knowledgable with beer. I give them major props for being a rural town bar that serves Dragon’s Milk, Delerium Tremmens, Great Lakes, Flying Dog, Red Seal along with some of the other hard to find beers. They also have a backyard patio thats not too shabby. There is also a pool table inside. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

This is the beer bar of Morris. Extremely helpful bartender, impressive selection of beers that are often hard to find elsewhere, and occasional karaōke on certain nights. I tried some beers here that I have never even heard of. It made me very happy! It’s spacious, too, with a huge back patio. Sometimes the TV volume and jukebox overpower each other, but otherwise The Red Cent is a pretty laid-back and fun place to drink.
