This is a great place for lobster rolls or clam strips. The seafood is always fresh and reliable. It is also very reasonable. Its a place you could take your mom to and that says a lot.

I’ve been here several times this past summer. Each and every time the food did not disappoint-everything we ordered was delicious –lobster rolls, fried clams, French fries, calamari… BYOB is fun :-) Ambiance can’t be beat. My only concern would be to add more signs as to what to do, where to order. I’ve been asked twice«where do I go?» And I do not work there. I did not mind helping but… make it work-for all ages :-)

I start and end every summer here! Love sitting outside. The food is fresh and great. BYOB can help make it a reasonable night out. Love the whole bellies, fish tacos and lobster rolls!

This place is the best seafood in the area. Period. The fish is fresh, the owner is knowledgeable and attentive and she goes out of her way to ensure quality food and service. My favorites are the fish tacos and fish sandwich, which I enjoy eating in the summer out on the patio. It’s also my go to spot for taking home some fresh fish to prepare at home. She’s even open on Christmas Eve to accommodate us Italians for our Festa dei sette pesci(Feast of the seven fishes)! Thanks Suzie! The review posted by Brenda T. is so far off the mark it’s laughable. Not even close. Sorry Brenda, this place is the best.

4 ½ stars. Get out of town good! I ordered the whole belly clams and oysters fried combination and my significant other had salmon with roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables. Very large portion of whole belly clams and oysters and the salmon entre was cooked to perfection. Some Unilocal reviews were poor… I can imagine when this place gets busy anticipate a bit of a wait. suggest call ahead for status.

I can’t believe that this place has more than three stars. Granted, the bar is set pretty low in this area for decent, mid-priced food choices, so we like to try new places when they pop up. The place was busy, but not hopping when we arrived. We ordered quickly and then sat down outside at a picnic table. It became clear very fast that the TRICK here is to order ahead so that your food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. If you’re new and get suckered into just ordering at the counter when you arrive, it’ll be a looonnnggggg wait. We waited over an hour for our food. Ridiculous no matter how good the food might be. The food is fine, but definitely not worth a 45 – 60 minute wait after ordering. The thing that really set me off is that there wasn’t an apology and the staff didn’t seem to care at all. Not a comped soup, fry(btw, squidgy and cold after the wait) or drink in sight. Not giving this place a second chance, mostly because of staff attitude.

Waited a full hour for 2 small fish & chips, a fish sandwich, fries & fish tacos. Fries were soggy and barely warm; the fish tacos barely had any fish in them. The sandwich and fish & chips were good, but not worth the wait — which came with no apology or explanation. I get that they’re not a fast food place. I also understand it was Saturday evening at 6:30. But there were other tables available and I consider an hour wait excessive at any restaurant — let alone for the type of food served here. Not likely to be back, not likely to recommend.

Truly a hidden gem in Litchfield Hills! Best seafood around, and so relaxing! Sit outside under the sun or sun setting on picnic tables reminds me of Maine. Great experience and its byob! The fish tacos never disappoint as well has the clam strips! I’ve never had a bad meal! This place is a great find! We visit 1 – 2 times a month!

We went out for a drive & stumbled upon this total gem. Despite the server telling us it was a 60 minute wait on a Thursday(you have to be kidding me, but that was a good sign that good things come to those that wait) we took a chance & tried their New England Clam Chowder(we got a bowl & shared it for 2 adults) it was flavorful & packed with fresh clam not the canned stuff. Despite being in the middle of July get the chowda you won’t regret it! Sitting outside on the picnic tables is a great way to catch up with friends & family minus your iPhones enjoying everyone’s company. After waiting over an hour for 3 lobster rolls(Thursday special 3 for $ 33) we questioned how much longer & it turns out they lost our ticket. Not thrilled with the confusion & I thought this was the end of us finding our newest date night spot, but the lady in the kitchen was extremely apologetic to my husband & made right on the situation, A++ for great customer service! You have earned a forever guest in us by the way you rectified the situation. Thank you. We can’t wait to come back as we eyed everything around us.

The food and service were excellent, and I can see why it’s a busy place. The fried clams, fish tacos, and lobster roll we just devoured were incredible. It’s too bad we don’t live closer, but they are well worth the trip!

This place is a hidden gem; always fresh seafood, excellent service, and great value. Highly recommend the fish tacos! The service was also excellent and I wish I knew about this place sooner!

This is the kind of place you stumble onto while on a backroad in Maine and can never find again, only this seafood shack is right on 209. My grilled fish tacos were divine. Next time the lobster roll. Driven by zillions of times but never stopped until a friend raved. I’ve been missing out big time!

What a great little place! I had the grilled fish taco. It was so fresh and so yummy. The flavors were very well balanced. We also ordered fried calamari. Loved! My husband also loved their lobster roll. He thought it was better than many other lobster rolls he had ordered else where. I believe they only have outdoor seatings. It is great for a sunny day with the family. They even have picnic tables out by the grass lawn.

I happened to stumble upon this hidden gem by coincidence and boy am I glad I gave this place a shot! Being a total city girl, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I ordered a crab cake sandwich and a dozen raw littleneck clams. I wasn’t too thrilled about the wait time for food, but I’ll cut this place some slack as there were only two employees manning the restaurant(one cashier and one in the kitchen). (A group sitting next to us cracked open some beers while waiting. Good idea. I’ll definitely do the same if I happened to be around during the warmer months). Final verdict? My stomach was super happy and the price range was not bad at all! I’ll definitely stop by again. *I believe I saw a sign posted that this restaurant will open through the month of December… if so, awesome!

Can’t do four stars because I haven’t explored the menu that much. My go-to place when I’m craving oysters and feeling land-locked. Call ahead if you can because service is sloooow, even for raw bar items. Lobster roll is delish, tacos are decent, clams are clams(yum). And… it’s BYOB!

Just the most amazing fish tacos here. I ordered the fried option and it was delivered with fresh toppings, crispy fish and a great spread my wife ordered the clam strips and they were just as good; tender and crispy. The French fried are just about perfect, crispy outside and buttery inside. Oh my.

We get the hot buttered lobster rolls often(maybe weekly in the summer) and they are ALWAYS great and STUFFED with delicious, perfectly cooked lobster. We also are in love with the onion rings. They only offer outside seating and it is limited and this place is getting more popular by the minute… we usually order to go so we don’t get shut out. I love the accommodating, hardworking staff and the location(close to home) which is quaint/neat. Get here if you haven’t — it is awesome.

Won’t go here again unless somebody convinces me otherwise. Not sure where to start… how ’bout the raw bar? I ordered 6 Oysters on the half shell, never seen an oyster so big on a restaurant table, had to eat it with knife and fork and flavorless to boot! Also ordered the calamari with pepper rings and feta cheese… soggy breading so not good mouthfeel Next was the fish and chips, decent white fish but sure it was previously frozen because it fell apart when picked up and again, soggy breading. The fries were more soggy if you can believe that? Last was the classic grilled fish taco, same thing, fell apart as there was so much chipotle mayo I could barely taste the fish! Not even going to discuss the absolute waste of paper going on there…

THEBESTLOBSTERROLLOFMYLIFE!!! Succulent, tons of Maine lobster in it… finger lickin’ good with the butter dripping from it. Will go back on another trip just for the amazing warm lobster roll!!!
