My husband and I both had the catfish plate at Praters this evening. The fish was not edible — tasted like it had gone bad and they cooked it anyway. I told one of the waitresses and they just said«okay». We only ate a few bites and knew immediately something was wrong with it. Our last trip to this place — too bad they don’t allow a negative score.

Was kinda worried about going in since I had forgotten my shitty attitude at home. Luckily the kid who took my order had one she was being generous with. At least the food is better than the service. But bad customer service can really put you off a place. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

some of the worst barbecue me or my husband have ever had. there was no smoke anywhere so I would assume they bake? or boil? their ribs? either way. it was terrible. the macaroni was inedible. I would recommend that you keep on driving.

The food was amazing. The BBQ was to die. But the chicken was surprisingly my favorite. The only thing I didn’t like about this place was the customer service. The girl taking our order was new and trying to learn, and everyone else was rude. A certain person was yelling at her and telling her she was doing stuff wrong right in front of customers. That just gave me a bad taste for the place, they need to clean their act up.

We were passing through and saw all the cars. I would rather not eat at chains and this looked like my kinda place. They did not disappoint. Food was great. The family got a a sampling of many items and all were great. Sides were all excellent also. We will make it a point to come back next time we are in the area.

Great BBQ and service! I highly recommend the ranch beans and onion rings. We didn’t have room for dessert, but it’s on my list for next time! Will be stopping by here again!

Best ribs I’ve ever had! I’ve been here multiple times, and have only had the ribs because they were so good the first time. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the other items on the menu, but the ribs themselves are worth a visit.

So, I’m stuck in Mcminnville for work and I thought that I would not find anything delicious at all out here so I expanded my Unilocal search a little.(Thank you little map tool thingy.) I drive up to this place — looks like a shack and there is smoking on the outside, always a good sign in the South. I have to say, I was floored by the taste of the ribs! Hard to describe but they had a kick, not a spice kick but some kind of kick. I also had some of the tenders which were a 4 and the wings which were not the best I’ve ever had but another 4. I think with the uniqueness of the rib spice, quality in a place where you won’t find much besides the crap fast food and Applebee’s, this deserves a 5-star to let any other stranded traveler to know that THISISTHEONLYPLACETOGOTHATISGOODWITHIN40MILESAROUND!

fantastic bbq joint. pulled pork and ribs are both outstanding; some of the best i’ve ever had in either category. portions are huge, meat is smoky but very moist, and sides were above average. they’ve got a vinegar sauce and a tomato-based sauce on the table, the latter of which was a little sweet for my liking. but a little of each sauce was the perfect combination. buckets of peanuts on the table for you to discard on the floor while you wait for your meals to arrive. they’ve also got nightly specials, like fried frog legs.

Best pulled pork ever! I love a vinegar based sauce, but none was needed. You heard me right the pork was perfectly smoked and so delicious nothing was needed. I did add a little sauce about half way through to get the whole experience. I had the pulled pork sandwich accompanied by the beans, coleslaw and fried pickles. I am not usually a beans fan but almost everyone ordered them so I followed their example. The beans were wonderful, they were like a chili that was mostly beans, yummy. The coleslaw was standard fare. The fried pickles we perfect, not to much batter and the pickles still had snap. You might drive right past this place since it is really three trailers connected in the middle of a highway. Please, look for it if you are ever driving through Tennessee.

Ribs are outstanding — 5 out of 5. Slaw and beans mediocre. Fries OK — country style where they’re real taters but not crisp. Have Bud, Bud Lite, Mich Ultra, Mich something else for $ 2.50 a bottle. No other alcohol. Very friendly people. Very busy, but most traffic was take-out. We were able to sit our group of 7 without a problem. Must be the out of the way location. 2 outside tables, several diner-style tables inside.

Unbelievable ribs! Fall off the bone, perfectly cooked. Smokey, Sweet, and tender. Beans weren’t to my liking but you go to a place like this for the meat. Perfect sweet tea too. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

I talked about thees ribs for the remainder of my ride home. Last summers quest was the Booze, Blues and Barbecue tour of the South. One of our last stops we found along the way was Prater, s. A family restaurant with these sweet memorable ribs. The sweet flavor is cooked into the meat not needing sauce. Side also great. Another reason to give these small family restaurants a chance over the large chains. You won’t find someone cooking with love you can taste.
