MODERN ELECTRIC is AWESOME!!! What a treasure. They first did work on my house in Morro Bay. They made the whole process SO easy. Easy to schedule, showed up on time. Sweet & professional guys. I had two light fixtures that needed to be connected to the same switch. The electrician showed up and went straight to work, and completed the job in less than an hour. I was so very happy with his work and work ethic, that I got on their schedule for more small projects that I’d wanted done for a long time. As we speak, switches and plugs are being added to my back yard for much needed lighting. MODERN ELECTRIC is just the BEST.

Excellent locally owned and operated electric repair business. We had an emergency situation involving pge, and insurance, replacement of electrical panel. Jimmy coordinated the entire repair process and coordinated with pge and insurance. We will definitely call on him again if needed.

The responsiveness, communication and professionalism was all you could ask for in an electrician. The job was handled quickly and he took care of all the permits and coordinated the job with PG&E. He also worked around my schedule to minimize the impact on my family. Modern Electric’s work was very high quality and the finished product looks great.
Unfortunately, I needed to deal with my insurance company on this project and Jimmy went well above and beyond to accommodate the various roadblocks and reporting hurdles they put in our way. I know this was a pain in the ass for him, but he did everything that was requested in a timely manner with no complaints, and to top it all off, he then reached out to me after the job was completed to see if the insurer paid the claim.

You can count on high quality service at reasonable prices and a friendly, professional rapport. Jimmy’s first priority was safe work done by code; I really appreciated that. He had quick and consistent contact with me throughout the project. The job area was left clean. He took the time and effort to check up after the job was complete to make sure the follow-​up by PGE was properly handled. I will use Modern Electric again; I highly recommend him.

Had an emergency at my second barber shop with lighting on a Friday at 5pm, Jimmy and his crew were there to suggest and help right away! They found the short and rewired extra lighting to help me with my haircuts!

By far one the best most professional companies out there, i was staying at a motel in Morro Bay, and their sign went out, they called the sign company and they couldn’t figure out the problem, they called modern electric and in 5 minutes he had the sign working. The motel owner was so happy and thankful, and the electrician charged him a very fair price, wish we had an honest electrician like that in Ridgecrest

With Modern Electric, you get the best of everything. They are highly competent, honest, professional, punctual, friendly, funny, and, here is the biggie, affordable. I had talked to three different electricians before Modern Electric, and Jimmy’s quote was most reasonable. Not only he replaced my outdated electrical panel with a new panel, he upgraded it to 200 Amp. He also fixed the 3-​way switch that the remodeling contractor had messed up. All that for less than any of the quotes that I got from other electricians (and the others did not even offer to double the power of the panel). He and his crew are very professional. They give you details on what will be done, show up on time, and clean up everything when they are done. They really are the best.
