Update: 6 months later, I’m still very happy with the service.

Live in San Simeon and had San Simeon Cable Company as an internet provider. Sometimes internet was up, other times down. No customer service, so you sit and wait and pay your 70 bucks a month. Went with Ranch WiFi due to word on the street. 4 motels in San Simeon already did the switch and told me «not super duper but a hell of a lot better than DSL and San Simeon Cable» Due to reliability track history had RanchWiFi installed. It’s a line of sight method to a micro wave tower south of Cambria. My residence had a lucky clear shot of that tower between some trees and a condo complex. Professional installation was done with a small dish mounted on the eves of my condo. I had to provide my own WiFi box and I needed a WiFi booster to get a 5 bar signal to all areas of my residence. Able to stream Netflix. Ranch Wifi is 90 bucks a month which is 20 more than San Simeon Cable however Ranch WiFi is always on. So far so good, no complaints.

I’ve been a Ranch Wifi customer since the beginning, and remain very pleased with their internet service, and their customer service as well. The internet connection is fast, reliable and not-too-terribly-priced. They are right on top of repairs in my experience, for the couple times something has interrupted service. Good company to deal with.

I am 40 miles from the nearest city. I only have satellite or cell phone hot spot internet to choose from. Satellite internet was slow and data limited. I found Ranch Wifi and decided to try them out due to their unlimited data. I have had Ranch Wifi for about 2 years now. The installation price was expensive, but they let me make payments over a year. The speeds have been what I’m paying for and even higher. I have had my internet go down 3 times over the last 2 years. Twice was due to bad storms knocking the equipment out on my pole. The third time was due to an equipment failure. All three times it took them from 2 – 4 days to come out and replace or repair the problem. They never charge me for the repairs. I am able to reliably run many internet devices off my Ranch Wifi service including movie and audio streaming and remote security camera streaming. I am happy with their service overall and do recommend them to my friends.

I paid for two weeks’ worth of «Cayucos WiFi»(offered through Ranch Wifi). The first week, I experienced speeds slower than dial-up, and had 50% up time. The second week, I had less than 5% up time. I could connect to the network for 5 seconds, before it would cut out. The speeds had also decreased so much, that it took 5 minutes to load an average page. Rach WiFi in Cayucose is slow, unreliable, over priced, and not worth the effort. Their customer service is also awful, and my calls were not returned on multiple occasions. AVOID them!
