The whole hotel reeked of pot and cigarettes, including the elevators. There was drug dealing going on all night, including in the room next to ours, which had the door slamming all night long. There were multiple signs throughout the building with egregious spelling errors(«eatables» instead of «edibles»). We had no choice but to stay, because we had been driving all day and I couldn’t make it one step further. My boyfriend went in first and was quoted a rate. After discussing it, I decided to go in and negotiate. I was immediately quoted a higher rate and when I told the clerk that my bf had literally JUST been quoted lower he acted very confused, even though we were the only people anywhere near the lobby at that late hour. We were afraid to leave any belongings in our car and came out the next morning to find, I kid you not, a full feast of food(including bone-in-fish and cheap beer) scattered around my vehicle. Also, the police were actively working on something in the hotel when we departed. We also realized that we left a video game behind(we both know that we left it on the sink), but when we called, it had not been turned in by housekeeping or any other staff. Unless you are looking for drugs, avoid this place.

Not the same hotel of a year ago. When I made my reservations for this stay I was unaware that the branding and ownership had changed. Formerly known as a Sleep Inn, this location is now known as America’s Best Value Inn and Suites. Well, let you tell you, I no longer consider this hotel to be of good value, and it certainly is not the best value available. I’ve stayed here multiple times in the past, the last time being about a year ago, when I’ve needed to get away from the chaos of my household to get work done on a tight deadline. In the past, my stay has always been a wonderful experience — from the moment that I opened the door to my room(which always brought a smile to my face at its beauty and cleanliness) to checkout. Opening the door to my room on this occasion elicited a frown; I actually wondered if this was the same hotel and if I had made a mistake in making my reservations. Some points that stand out: Lobby. The lobby is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Clean and inviting. Don’t be deceived though. It’s not a reflection of the rooms or the service that you’ll receive. Front desk staff. A mixed review. Some were friendly and personable; some were not. I observed many occasions during my stay when front desk staff made personal phone calls a priority over guest check-ins and check-outs. During the night desk staff had loud conversations going(I have no idea who they were talking to), so loud that their voices carried up to my floor, making it difficult to sleep. Rooms. This is where I found my greatest disappointments. On my last stay a year ago the rooms were well maintained and clean. Although you would expect some wear and tear over the course of a year, there shouldn’t be as much as there is now. The walls had stains, the carpet was sticky in many places, the chairs were sticky, and there was mold growing on one of the walls. The remote control was sticky. The sink was stained. The bathroom floor was chipped in places. There’s also an infestation problem. My room had gnats and I even killed a spider over the sink one morning. I pray that I didn’t bring any of their«relatives» back home with me. The bed though was comfortable and had comfortable pillows. The linen was clean. One of the wall plugs that I used to plug up the multi-charger that I use to charge my electronic devices was dead, and I didn’t discover that until the next morning. The air conditioning unit worked well. For some reason, the toilet made frequent loud running noises during the night, jarring me out of my sleep. Continental breakfast. Breakfast is from 6:30am to 9:30am. As I type this I’m still laughing at the notion that management considers what is offered a good representation of a continental breakfast. I’ve had much better, more varied, and more appetizing offerings at other hotels. Don’t factor this in as a means of saving money on your trip. The«breakfast» is just enough food to hold you until you can go to breakfast somewhere else. There’s a waffle mix available where you can make one small dry, bland waffle in a commercial waffle iron, a processed egg«patty,» sausage patties that don’t taste like real sausage and that are undercooked, a few slices of stale bread to make toast, cereal with milk(of course), oatmeal in the packet, a banana, three choices of juice, and coffee. Butter, jelly, and pancake syrup are available as your condiments. There’s no bottled water, but there is a water fountain over in a corner. I’ll give points for the fact that the kitchen was clean. Most of the chairs were stored on top of the tables though, taking away from the dining experience. Parking. There is ample parking, primarily because they don’t seem to get many guests any more. Maid service/amenities. Don’t expect your room to be cleaned every day. On my extended visit, maid service showed up one time on a Saturday at a time that it was not convenient for me to have the room cleaned. They did though empty the trash cans that I set outside the door. The hotel offers cable TV service(Xfinity) on a nice-sized flat screen TV and Wi-Fi, which was temperamental and spotty, especially in the late evening. There is an in-room safe. Even though I didn’t use mine it was nice to know that it was there. The one laundry bag left in the room for guest use had a hole in it. An iron and ironing board were available in the room as well as a microwave and mini-fridge. Summary. Again, as I stated, this is not the same hotel of a year ago. Much has changed. I used to feel that the stay that I received here was a great value for the money. Now the rates have increased and I don’t feel that the service I received merited the nightly room rate. I won’t be staying here again.
