This place is awesome. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with a friendly hello. I never have any problems getting help if I need it. My biggest fear is they will close the store since the area around it seems to be emptying out. I hope this doesn’t happen. I love Hancock Fabrics in Morrow GA!!!

Great fabric, fleece, knitting and crochet yarn and supplies, ribbon and sewing items. They have good sales and an app to download for extra coupons. Good bargain bins too!

Before today, I have had the occasion to visit this location with my mother, a VERY accomplished seamtress and furniture upholsterer, without incident. However, I’m not sure if the impending«New Moon» which is scheduled to rise tomorrow played a part in the atmosphere, but the attitude exhibited amongst a couple of the employees on-staff this afternoon left SUCH a negative impression upon us. Having a strong customer service background myself, I find it paramount that the«front-line» employee of a company ALWAYS represent their employer in a professional and respectful manner, at ALL times. So when we entered the store and greeted the«supervisor», who is also Black, I’m sure that you can imagine the shock«we New Yorkers» felt when she ignored and passed us by, only to gleefully greet the White couple entering behind us, ready to assist them. Welcome To The South? Continuing on with our browsing/shopping and after looking at patterns, I asked one of the clerks named«Angel», «May my mother be given a sample of one of the fabrics in the upholestry section? And when you’re done, if you would kindly meet me in the fur section … I would appreciate it.» She responded, «Sure, dear. I’ll be right over.» After a wait of no-less-than 15-minutes, I went to check on my mother, who walks with the assistance of a cane. When I found her alone and unassisted, I peered around the boats of fabric, only to see both«Angel» and the supervisor lurking around the main cutting table, talking amongst themselves. I sought out another clerk named«Mario», who graciously assisted me, my mother AND another customer, allthewhile, «Angel» and her supervisor congregated amongst fabric boats. Once«Mario» completed our requests, as I walked by «Angel», who was STILL fussing with fabric boats, asked, «Have you been helped?», to which I replied, «Why YES, no thanks to you, we HAVE been helped.» At this time, I approached the register where the«supervisor» was assisting another customer. As I waited behind this gentleman, she interrupted his transaction to ask me if she could help me? I replied that I just needed a pen, paper and the manager’s name. After repeated requests to know what my inference was about and refusing to supply the pen and paper, I then stated, «If I can just have the name of your store manager, that would be great. Thank you.» It was then that she proceeded to call«Ms. Pat» to the front of the store. I explained to «Ms. Pat [Mallard]» that«The pen is [MUCH] mightier than the sword», which is why I prefer THIS manner(«Yelp”-ing) of handling grievances and/or reviews toward a particular business or their staff. However, allowing her the chance to hear of the negative encounters we’d suffered from, she was most-gracious in the receipt of our complaints, so I don’t expect any future incidents of this level.
