Everything was great! I love the queen crab bucket with ragin cajun seasoning. To drink I had the TKO drink! Let’s just say they are right when they only suggest two. Ask for Connie as your server she is wonderful! I’ll be back once I’m in the ATL area again.

Great food, great décor, great price. I’ve visited several times and I’m never disappointed. I like the serving ware(food stays hot) and portions are just right. This restaurant is on the list of places I take out-of-town visitors.

I visited yesterday for dinner around 7pm 9÷11÷15 with my friend. I ordered the strawberry peach sangria which was almost $ 9 but it was amazing! I ordered the stuffed mushrooms with crab as an appetizer and they were just ok. I would probably order the crab dip instead as I love that. I chose the redfish entrée with the crab dirty rice and I was super disappointed. I felt that the dish was under seasoned and the rice very bland. I definitely would not order it again. I ordered the chicken strips, French fries, and broccoli kid meals for my children and they both ate everything minus a few fries so I would say they loved their food. The food was free(month of September special) so mommy definitely loved that :) My friend ordered the appetizer sampler which included the crab dip, fireballs, and calamari. She said that it was very good and she would order all three separately as well. Our waitress was great and she made sure our drinks were always full. She did ask if I wanted to order something else in place of my entrée but I declined as I rarely send food back unless there is a serious issue. We plan to try out the $ 2 Tuesday’s where there is an entire list of food/drinks that are $ 2 all day long. Overall great experience and I will definitely dine there again.

Hm, this was a pleasant surprise of a meal. We’ve had a family meal at this Joe’s location at least once a year, for the past 15 years or so. It started out as a cool place we could get crab legs in a restaurant setting instead of cooking them at home, but it was always just an ‘average’ place to eat. Then we ate here the other night(a Tuesday). I had eaten at a Joe’s in Maryland at the beginning of the month(a Sunday) and wasn’t expecting anything different in Morrow, but boy it was. The service: top notch. Attentive and friendly. Food: tastes better than any other Joe’s meal I can remember. Our table had the sampler appetizer, Sam Adam’s steampot and the KJ steampot. Sampler was as good as it was anywhere, nothing remarkable about this(still yummy). The steampots were special: both a nice surprise of flavor! Usually, the steampots only taste of the seafood’s meat and the old bay seasoning thrown on top. These steampots actually had the subtle flavors of the liquids they were cooked in. Seafood was cooked to a *perrrrrfect* temperature. Meat was *just* on this side of cooked and very tender. Clams had just opened a crack — enough so you knew it wasn’t rancid, not wide open(usually indicating overcooked). No dancing from the staff which made a little sad(surprised me because this place was very full for a weeknight — maybe saw 2 empty tables this evening during dinner rush). If I could guarantee this experience every time, I’d eat here every night. Not sure if my experience was a byproduct of coming here on a weeknight, but I’d happily try it again to see if that is the case.

I was on vacation in ATL and wanted to experience their Joe’s compared to the one in Harlem. It was way better. Our waiter was amazing and the food was top notch. I typically HATE chain restaurants but Joe’s is one I don’t mind patronizing.

You need to know this if you’re going to eat at Joe’s: always call ahead and put your name on their list! This was a recent dinner-and-a-movie date night destination. Apparently the restaurant next door was closed for business so everyone was at Joe’s. We waited in a turn lane for a couple of minutes just to get into the crowded parking lot. When I saw how packed they were I called the hostess to inquire about our wait time. She said it was over an hour for anyone walking through the doors. Because I called ahead she added our names to the list. After parking, we squeezed our way inside… literally. It was like trying to walk down Bourbon Street on Fat Tuesday. There were at least three dozen people waiting in the galley area. We found a few inches of floor space off to the side near a couple with a baby. We didn’t have to wait long though because the hostess called for us less than ten minutes later. We ordered appetizers, drinks and entrées and were there to see at least two cha-cha slide line dances. I’d say we dined for about an hour. As we made our way towards the front door and up the galley, I looked over and saw that the couple with the baby were STILL standing there! I couldn’t believe it. The hostess said those who call ahead receive higher priority than people who just walk in and add their name to the list. Her exact words were something like, «It’s like getting to the hospital in an ambulance… they’re expecting you so you’re treated first.» The call ins get first dibs on the next available booth or table, depending on their preference. I don’t pretend to understand the difference between the person who calls from the parking lot and the one who speaks to the hostess in person. All I know is that their call ahead policy knocked a potential hour-long wait down to about ten minutes. So calling ahead is everything. That experience sealed it for me.

I kind of feel bad kicking this place when they are apparently already down, but they were PACKED and churning out $ 30+ buckets of Applebees-level microwaved seafood faster than mcdonalds churns out meat nuggets, so I don’t feel THAT bad. I ate more than my half of $ 80+ dollars of food and a tall beer, and was still hungry when I left. The atmosphere looked like something straight out of a theme park; fake ocean-related ornamental stuff, clearly worn down by a combination of their aggressive staff and animalistic patrons. Keep in mind, everyone else in attendance is paying top dollar for these fresh out of the microwave meat legs… they’ll talk and chew loudly, and they’ll grope that plastic sand dollar with their greasy hands if they want to, god dang it. On a positive note, it was kind of entertaining and I didn’t even think twice when I dropped something on the floor. Coming from the city, that can be refreshing in a way. Also, if you like bright colored theme-park style drinks and stuff served out of pineapples that cost $ 4508672, this is the place for you. PS — they got the order wrong and the hosted brought us out to our table a solid 5 minutes before it was ready(after waiting 45 minutes), so we had to awkwardly wait right in the kitchen entrance. I’m not really complaining though. I kind of expected that kind of thing the second I walked in the door.

The food was good but a little pricey as can be expected with a seafood restaurant no where near an ocean. It took too long for a waiter to come serve us and when one finally arrived he asked if anyone had come and when we said no, he seemed annoyed. Btw there were many people who didn’t really seem to be doing much, but he was working his butt off. Anyway he was really nice and patient while explaining the options as it was my friend and my own first time there. He disappeared for a while during our meal because to serve a party of 30 outside. The food was delicious & It was a pretty good experience with great food and a fun atmosphere, they just need to work on hiring some more people or having the people who work there gain a sense of urgency.

Went for lunch today and experienced bad service. We were the only table in the whole place and we had to first wait for our server to stop talking to the host to take our order. About 10min. Than had empty glasses while the server was behind the bar on her cell phone! Where our table was we could see in the kitchen one of our orders came up and sat under the heat lamps for quite awhile before anyone came up to tell us one of the dishes was going to be a few min more. The service was bad and just added to the fact that we orders were all fried food, and it took over an hour to get in and out of the restaurant.

Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty dead. Got some great food and perfectly cooked crab. The wait staff was spot on with service. Would highly recommend as a early lunch spot on weekends. Fresh food, good atmosphere and awesome staff.

I visited on feb 7, 2014 joes on mt zion in morrow ga. Don’t waste your time. Went there for dinner with the family and all of our buckets were cold. Complained to the manager and his exact words were«where do you see an ocean in Atlanta» basically everything is frozen what do you expect. Never will set foot in joes crab shack again.

The wait staff n bus boys needed some motivation. A 5 hour energy drink. Wings. Something. About a 15 minute wait for our table when it should of only been 5. It took about 30 minutes for our food. When it came we didn’t receive utensils a bid or cocktail sauce which took another 5 to get. Our steam pot lacked steam too. It was hot but barely. Only reason this spot gets 2 stars Is cause I’m from Virginia and the availability of good seafood around my area is lacking. So it still hit the spot. Just a little left of center tho

When I told some people that I’ve never eaten a Joe’s before, you would have thought that they were share holders or something. Shocked looks. I’m not a fan of chain seafood restaurants, but I told the daughter, I wanted to go somewhere I’d never been before, and this particular Sunday, every batch of commercials shown on TV had the Joe’s Crab Shack Corona Bucket being featured, so we headed out. 30 minutes from my house was this location and it was the closest, not sure, because in the past, it seemed like these were more plentiful, but I guess, you know, economics etc might have shuttered some of them. As we got out the car, the music was SUPERLOUD on the patio, I was also, on strict recommendations from my doctor to avoid stress, so I decided going in, that sitting on the patio was not going to be an option. The music was just as loud inside, but sort buffered with the TV’s and full dining room. I’m thinking… why is this place so packed on a Sunday nite at 9pm We were sat quickly, and almost as quick, our server Dominique came over to the table. I told her right off about the commercials, I’d never been here before and asked for recommendations. I hope this doesn’t get in any trouble, but I appreciated her honesty. She advised against the Coronoa Bucket, and after seeing that it was $ 41. I agreed. She also advised against the crab dip, but stated that the Bucket of Shrimp was a good appetizer to start with. So, I did. She was really helpful in choosing our buckets and the seasoning to go along with. She was patient in explaining the difference between the various buckets and which season blend worked best with each. We ended up choosing the Classic Steam-pots. What came out, was wonderful. After reading the reviews, I was fa sure that it was going to be an horrible experience, but it wasn’t. The crabs were good, the sausage, was good, and I was even able to snag a second piece of sausage, because I at first thought, mines was left out, but after getting to the bottom of the steampot, there it was. I went with the garlic and herb blend, my daughter chose the old bay blend. I would have preferred a little more flavor, but that may have made it too garlicky, so I won’t hold that against them. We also had a drink, some kind of «Sweet Tea» that is served in Mason jars that you are able to keep. WEAKEST sweet tea, I ever encounter. Now, that I wanted to send back and see if they mistakenly left the liquor out. $ 94 including tip, I thought it pricey for a chain restaurant. I’d rather go to the Fish Market if I’m going to spend $ 94 for two people to eat. I will admit though, I hardly ever leave the Fish Market with a to-go box, and I had enough leftovers for lunch the following day. 58 of 100
