I am impressed. I sent in 5 pro nikor lenses, 4 with significant damage to zoom and focus mechanisms. I got an estimate that day and my lenses back in a week and they are like new. These guys are repsonsive and competent.

I would highly recommend Authorized Photo Service for your camera repairs. They specialize in Nikon cameras. They were very knowledgeable, quick, and very efficient for my two camera repairs. Before I knew that they were here, I had gotten estimates from other places and everywhere else that I went said that they would have to ship out my camera and it would be at least 3 – 8 weeks before I would get it back. I needed the repairs done quickly for a trip I was going on, and they were able to complete everything within 48 hours. And not only did they do the necessary repairs, but they also cleaned my camera and lens and it came back looking like new! They were very reasonable as well. I would definitely go back for any necessary repairs.

I have had three cameras(D2X, D3S, D800) cleaned and two repaired by APS. I have also had a lens fixed(70 – 200). In all cases they did a great job. I am very pleased with their services and, when necessary, will use them again.

Our grandson knocked my D4 and 24 – 70 f/2.8 off a knee-wall and the lens suffered typical frozen zoom ring syndrome. This was a 2′ fall to a carpeted floor. Oh well, off to APS and I rec’d an estimate within a day. For a reasonable $ 575(mid-range of over-the-phone estimate) they replace the lens barrel, helicoid, filter ring mount and a variety of other parts. Best thing is the lens was done in a day back to me today, Christmas Eve! less than week since I shipped it from the East Coast. Not sure if normal turn around, but I am so happy to have it back for the holidays and lens looks and feels like new! What great experience to work with professionals in this day and age. I’m sending my squeaky 17 – 35 f/2.8 off to APS next!

I’ve sent my Nikon D800 twice to APS trying to get it repaired. The focus was consistently off and nothing had happened to the camera. It comes back«impact damage.» I spent almost $ 400 to have the mount replaced and the camera«calibrated.» I get it back and it focuses ok but the viewfinder will not focus. Even adjusting the diopter, you simple cannot focus the view through the prism. I sent it to a separate repair facility and they say the camera is back focusing also. The camera was sent back to APS with very specific instructions as to what the issue was. They report it is not back focusing and send it back to me unrepaired, ignoring the diopter issue. The viewfinder/diopter is still messed up and the now the camera definitely has a focus issues also. I’ve take about 1000 shots since the first repair. Two trips to IL and almost $ 500 later, I am left with a $ 2500 paperweight.

These guys are the best! I am a commercial photographer on call 24⁄7 and cannot wait when a camera or lens needs repair or for just a sensor cleaning. I need my cameras and they accommodate with awesome customer service every time. By the way, not only do they clean the sensor, but they update the camera’s firmware.

As a professional wedding photographer, my gear takes quite a beating on a regular basis. This shop is over an hour drive for me each way, and well worth it. They always accurately repair my gear, never going above their original cost estimate, and it’s always done in a timely manner. They’ve made a customer for life with me.

I have a d7000 and it was one of those back focusing copies. With the 35 mm 1.8g it needed –20 on the AF fine tuning setting and it was different depending on the light. I was going nuts! I took it tho APS thinking that they can not fix such a mess and they can only make it a bit better Well, they fixed it ! no more AF fine tuning needed on the two fast primes and the 70 – 2002.8 I now have the awesome camera, the d7000 is supposed to be, all covered by the warranty? Thanks APS !!!

After reading the reviews of APS I decided to give them a try. I have not had very good luck with the Nikon service people. My camera has been repaired several times for the same problem and the issue was not resolved and of course the 90 guarantee had expired. So I took my camera to be serviced locally. Let me tell you it was very worthwhile, not only can you speak with a service tech but you can face to face and explain what is going on. Immediately they knew what the problem was. I left the camera for repair. I returned to pick up the camera and on the spot I still had concerns. A few photo lessons ensued on the spot and the tech said he would make a few adjustments. So now with camera in hand and a 6 month guarantee I will work my camera and see that the problem is sufficiently resolved. If you live in the Chicago area well worth the trip and if not they still are great to work with.

I dropped my Nikon D90 and cracked the LCD. I thought I could fix it on my own – big mistake! I took my camera to Authorized Photo Service in pieces and they were able to fix it up in a couple of days. It turns out I had damaged the image board. Not only did they perform the major repair, they re-calibrated my camera with their proprietary diagnostic equipment. I even got a tour of the facility when I picked up my camera. I hope I never need to go back, but I wouldn’t hesitate to give them by business in the future.

David, Joe and the entire staff are second-to-none in the customer service, honesty, knowledge and quality of service they perform. I’m a professional photographer — many years as a photojournalist — and require the very best service for my gear. I’ve gotten OK service elsewhere for various things — typically a non-Nikon piece of equipment — but when it comes to Nikon, these guys are the best.

Well I can’t say I’m happy that I had to come back, but once again I got stellar service in a timely fashion from some true professionals. Whether you are able to locally drop off or send it in via UPS when it comes to Nikon repairs this place can’t be beat.
