Tasty, creative takes on burgers & hot dogs. It can easily compete with Japadog in flavor and quality, without feeling like it’s trying too hard to be trendy. Prices were very reasonable. Atmosphere is chill. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while.

Meh is the perfect word to describe this place. We were the first ones there on a Saturday or Sunday lunch time and it took a really long time for them to cook our burgers. Flavors were not anything amazing, fries weren’t amazing and it was a bit pricey. I wish they would up their game because it’s close to my house but I’m not sure I would go back again. Would rather go up the street to Culvers for a burger.

Boba Burger is in a bowling alley — how random! Maybe I went on an off day but my friends and I didn’t receive the stellar service everyone raves about. And we found the food to just be ‘meh’. We went in with high hopes hoping to experience some delicious Asian fusion burgers and hot dogs based on the reviews. Sadly, none of us were impressed. I had the Seoul Dog which was a hot dog with kimchi and kalbi glazed bacon on it. This sounded better than it was. I didn’t get any kalbi flavor at all from this. It was fine and I gobbled it up but wasn’t the fabulous mouth experience I was hoping for. Their fries were decent and edible but again nothing wonderful or mindblowing. My friends both had burgers with similiar experiences of thinking they were fine, but nothing great. Service was fine but not this amazing service all speak of. There was a college aged kid working the register who seemed shy & timid with no advice on the menu and awkward exchanges while we ordered and asked questions. I’d like to give Boba Burger another chance as I feel like I must have gone on an off day. They have some other food items I’d like to try, so may as well give it another go in the future.

I had the Seoul burger, hand-cut fries, and boba Thai iced tea. I hadn’t had boba in Thai iced tea previously and that was great. Fries fine but not too exciting. I really enjoyed the Seoul burger particularly the Kimchi relish. I think the kalbi glazed bacon should have had more flavor… I didn’t taste it much on the burger because I really like kalbi generally.

Boba is in a bowling alley. The staff is nice. The menu is simple. We ordered the BBQ burger and Asian salad. The burger was good… it was sweet and stacked high with an onion ring and pieces of pork. The salad and fries were just ok.

For being an eatery inside a bowling alley this place is great! My husband and I split a BBQ burger, Asian salad and fries. The burger not only had onion rings on it, it had pork. All I have to say is Heaven! We are in town for a soccer game down town and this was our first stop because our room at the hotel was not ready yet.

I keep trying to tell everyone I know about this place, because nobody would think to go here. A burger place in a bowling alley often gets overlooked. The burgers are amazing. The steak bahn mi is sooo good. Hot dogs are awesome. Haven’t tried anything here I haven’t liked yet

This could easily only be 2 stars. I was soooooooo excited to come here, given the reviews. So excited. Planned ahead, and was horribly let down. Here’s the breakdown: Service — 5 Stars. Crazy nice and helpful guys. There was some breakdown in communication and the chicken sandwich I thought I ordered didn’t actually get ordered. When they brought out everything else, he went and make me a sandwich on the fly, didn’t make me pay until after we finished(i.e. I didn’t have to go back to the cash register) Fries — 5 stars — crispy yummy, not oversalted. Good times Chicken sandwich — 3 stars. Chicken is well fried, not greasy and super thin, which is great. Rest of the sandwich is bland, nothing exciting Chicken Eggrolls — 2 stars. Nothing really stands out, greasy. Not even like Lumpia, because there’s not a strong garlic flavor. Boring, Lechon Burger — 2 stars got it without BBQ because I’m not a fan of BBQ on burgers. Pork was moist, but lacked any other flavor. Burger was extremely dry, toppings were bland. Nothing to write home about at all. I do not think I’ll be back. MAYBE if you got an egg on one of the burgers, it would help the dryness, but frankly, I just don’t see the need to visit. I feel badly giving them a low review because they really seem like great people, but just being honest.

This place is good. You walk into a bowling alley and tucked to the side is this restaurant. This is almost what I envision an old school, simple small town restaurant would look like. The people who work there are nice. They check in on you after they serve you the food which was unexpectedly sweet for a restaurant like this. I thought it would be another fast-food joint. Burgers are not overcooked. The types of toppings they put on are not new, but still different from a regular burger place. It’s a nice change of pace in the area it is located. I ordered the BBQ lechon burger. None of the meat was dry. The flavors complimented it well. Interesting to add an onion ring on top, but did not take away from the overall taste. Fries are good too. Not overly salty. Some restaurants add too much salt to cover how overcooked or bland the potatoes are. Not this restaurant. The cheese was also good. Overall, a good price for what you get. Would definitely come again to try something else like another type of burger or their hotdogs.

Tucked in a nondescript bowling alley, Boba Burger was an amazing random find on Waukegan Rd. in Morton Grove. This place is super low-key, unassuming(seems like everyone is in agreement on that term) and didn’t seem like much until we got our food/drinks. Likes: –Fantastic service, really yummy fruit freezes(with real fruit– try the super melon– it was perfect for today’s weather), and large portions. –The«chicken tenders» seemed like flattened actual pieces of chicken rather than the generic frozen«nuggets» they serve at bars. –They have cool twists on the burgers including«Hawaiian style» as well as a «Korean style» and«Lechon burger». –I ended up getting the Cali Salad and it was pretty standard. The bacon they added gave it a little something extra. –Prices are very reasonable.(Shout out to the BFF for taking me out to lunch!!) Dislikes: –The bowling alley is right next door and it was super loud. –Didn’t get a lot of napkins(we had to request more) –Not a lot of tables(can get crowded fast). Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and want to try it. Won’t return unless I’m in the area and craving a specialty burger/dog.

Went here for fourth meal. I was hungry after a long day of school and decided to go with a friend. This place is located inside the bowling alley. I want to first say that the atmosphere is awful and needs to be updated. The yellow tables and banquet chairs need to be replaced. They need to at least tack up the Tv antenna and not leave it dangling. One of the lights was burned out and if you sit at the last two tables you could see all of their supplies sticking out at the bottom of the counter. They have a $ 4 minimum credit charge and they do not take American Express. This place does not have that many menu options but what they have is well made. I ordered the Seoul Burger with a side of mozzarella sticks. The burger was very flavorful toped with kimchi and a fried egg. The mozzarella sticks were ok as they had this dry seasoned taste. Overall 4⁄5 for the burger.

Wow! What an unassuming place(it’s connected to a bowling alley) with tasty food! I was very excited to try this place as it got such great reviews from my fellow Unilocalers! The service was good and very friendly! The ambiance is… eh. It’s a simple place connected to a bowling alley. Don’t expect anything fancy… but, it is clean! Now to the important stuff… the food! My husband and I decided to skip fries and ordered the chicken eggrolls as our side to share. I, honestly, would skip them. They were good… but not great. And ours were actually burnt. I would love to try the chili cheese fries or jalapeño poppers next time! For the main event, I ordered the Hawaiian burger! It had teriyaki glazed pineapple, fried spam… YUMMMMM, sriracha aioli, lettuce, tomato, and cheese(you pick what kind). And my oh my was it yummy! I LOVED the spam on the burger… perfection! My only critique… and it’s so not a big deal… the burger patty was small in diameter and thick… which made it difficult for me to fit in my mouth. I would’ve liked a flatter, larger in diameter patty. Anywho… the burger was cooked perfectly and the flavors all went well together. I loved the sriracha aioli! My husband ordered the BBQ lechon burger which had; lechon, bbq sauce, fried onion strings and LT on it. From what I gathered, he enjoyed it! Now that we had the burgers, we needed the boba! We washed down our burgers with fresh fruit freezes. I am partial to another very popular restaurant that is known for freezes. I have been disappointed w/every fruit freeze I’ve had outside of that place… until now. This one isn’t as good as the other place, but it definitely hit the spot! :) And I would definitely get one again. It is pricey for the size, but good. I will definitely be back! Good service and good food! Can’t go wrong!!!

At first glance, this place is SO unassuming! It’s connected to a bowling alley and you can hardly see it. You walk in and it looks like a typical bowling alley restaurant except… THEMENU… Albeit they have burgers and hot dogs, they are not your average burger or dog. Have you heard of a bbq lechon burger or a Tokyo hot dog? Yeah, me neither! And lastly, they have bubble tea/freezes there. I have to say, the burger are delicious. Perfect size and favors just create fireworks in your mouth. I tried the bbq lechon burger. It has a 5oz patty, fresh veggies, an onion ring and fried pork belly!!! OMG, it was unreal! The wife got the Hawaiian burger. It had the same size patty, veggies, teriyaki glazed pineapple, spam, and sriracha aioli. We topped the meal off with bubble freezes… Definitely would hit this spot up again and again!

I’ve only recently learned about this place even though I’ve been to the attached bowling alley a number of times in the past… The owners are very nice and service was good! Prices were decent for portions! I liked my BBQ lechon burger with pepperjack cheese added bacon over my cousin’s Seoul burger with pepperjack cheese. Side of fries has the texture of In-N-Out fries but with different taste of oil. The Strawberry banana with boba pearls smoothie was real fruit so I was happy!

Alright this is 3rd time here in 1 week. The first time I got the Lechon burger(one of the best burgers I’ve had), the second time I got a Tokyo Dog(Tempura fried hot dog w/wasabi, aioli, nori, pickled Veges & sriracha ketchup) & I’m about to try the Lechon hot dog. Ok so I heard of Boba Burger, but it’s in a bowling alley right where Waukegan & Cauldwell merge together just south of Dempster Avenue. There has to be something about this place that had 52 reviews now 53 reviews @ 5 stars on Unilocal. The burger I ordered was The Lechon Burger. After trying the burger it was deserving of 5 stars. Initially I’m looking at the menu and it says 5 oz. in this day and age of ½ lb burgers it seemed like it may not be enough meat, but let me assure you this burger was stacked about 5″ high andevery bite was delicious. This burger had 5 oz of fresh ground seasoned beef w/fried Lechon, a crispy onion ring, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce &BBQ sauce. It’s a taste sensation of flavor and textures with the deliciously seasoned beef, fried onion ring & fried Lechon. I can’t wait to come back & try other items on the menu like the Hawaiian Burger, Tokyo dog or BBQ Lechon Dog… The restaurant owner /Chef Loc and his brother have created a unique niche of inexpensive food with a phenomenal taste. I intend to come back and try different items in the menu. You Unilocalers need to bookmark this restaurant and check it out. You will not be disappointed!!!

Juiciest hamburger I’ve ever had! If you haven’t heard of boba, u better ask somebody! I visited this place though a Unilocal friend’s recommendation. Thanks Phil! This was well worth the trip. Boba burger is located in a bowling alley which I personally think is a clever business move because on a Friday night, there are ton of people hanging out and bowling. I’m sure after working up a sweat in the lanes, people are gonna want to eat at some point. But back to the restaurant. The restaurant has a divey feel and its interior looks like it was lost in the 70’s. Despite that, there are a few modern upgrades like tile back splashes and a flat screen tv to somewhat balance the place out and bring the design current and more 2015. However, you don’t come to a burger establishment for ambiance. Visiting a place solely for ambiance is for snobs. You come back again and again for the food and this place definitely does burgers and fries right. Not only were the burgers juicy and meaty but the fries were stellar as well. Their fries are freshly cut and were crispy but not overly greasy. I had a boba burger and fries and my mom and dad had a kimchi tofu tempura hot dog and a bbq lechon hot dog.(Lechon is a Filipino delicacy which is basically roast pork cooked over a spit.) All were grand slams and my parents and I loved our selections. Neither one of us had a complaint regarding our food which to me deserves a solid 5 stars. Ample parking off to the side and easy access to the adjacent bowling alley. Boba, you did good.

Dear Boba Burger, Thank you for showcasing some tasty Asian fusion eats! I completely enjoyed your BBQLECHONBURGER. The 5-oz. freshly made, juicy beef patty with crispy Lechon, and crunchy fried onion rings all smothered with BBQ sauce, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and tomatoes were a delight to eat — bite after bite! Your TOKYODOG was another winner! The wasabi aioli gave this dog a kick, the sriracha ketchup added kick and sweetness, while the acidity in the pickled veggies cut through a would-be-heavy tempura-battered, fried hot dog. Topped with nori, the Tokyo Dog was surely an enjoyable treat! The SESAMEBEEFBANHMI was delicious and flavorful! The beef was well-marinated and packed with flavor while the pickled veggies added crunch and gave contrast to the meat. Topped with cilantro to give it a fresh and well-rounded flavor, all on a fluffy baguette, sure made my party and I wish we ordered more! The SEOULDOG was also another tasty treat! The kalbi-glazed bacon gave a crunchy texture while the kimchi relish added a perfect balance to the salty bacon and showcased both flavors and textures in a unique way! The 15-minute wait for our food was overlooked after our orders arrived to our table. Little did we know that a stop into a bowling alley would leave us feeling we just traveled around Southeast Asia(Philippines: BBQ Lechon Burger, Japan: Tokyo Dog, Vietnam: Sesame Beef Banh Mi, and Korea: Seoul Dog) without the hefty international airfare price tag! Thank you for your wonderful eats, Boba Burger! With happy tummies, Wendy & friends

You’ve got to make it here! Such an unexpected find in a bowling alley. I haven’t been bowling in years and never would have expected to find a great burger joint here. Another great Unilocal find. It was suggested when asked that the Lechon burger and the Seoul burger were the popular burgers to order on this menu so my husband had the Lechon burger and I ordered the Seoul and I was not disappointed. Just look at the photos! What a big burger for $ 8. It was stacked with a 5oz patty of juicy ground beef with a fried egg easy over, Kalbi glazed bacon and cheese with the bun smeared with a garlicy kimchi sauce that was mouth-wateringly delicious! Their hand cut fries are a perfect accompaniment to the burgers. They also offer some unusual hot dog concoctions too that I will have to come back and try and they offer bubble tea, but I didn’t have the room to try it this time. I will definitely be back!

Best boba I’ve had in the Midwest. The boba pearls aren’t too mushy or chewy. Also, the Thai tea is nice and strong. I hate when it’s too watery. The hand cut Fries are insanely good! The seasoning is killer. The BBA lechon melts in your mouth. Pork belly + freshly made beef patty? Hell yes. I will be back for sure! Probably tomorrow…

Wowza, when a place has reviews this high, and serves up creative burgers and hand cut fries to boot, there’s no way it’s not going on my bookmark list! 3 pointers for you: 1. Try the lechon burger! It’s a juicy burger with crispy, fatty pork belly on top(I got a decent portion of this, but husband did not), BBQ sauce, and an onion ring. In between bites, all I could say is «hefty burger!» 2. You have never before, and probably never will again, witness me make this comment, but the hand cut fries were actually underseasoned. I am not one to add salt to anything, but in this case… no, I didn’t add salt. I found that this issue wasn’t anything some ketchup couldn’t help. And yes, you really can tell they’re hand cut fries. 3. Thai iced tea is offered here! Boom! I was a huge fan of it. If I recall correctly, it’s $ 3. Also, pop refills are $ 1. Cool, low key location adjacent to Classic Bowl, which always seems to be packed with tourneys and parties and whatnot. I will be back to try that tempura dog!
