We had a horrible experience because of what I assume was the owner who was super creepy and rude to us, don’t go here unless you want to feel harrassed. The pumpkins are nice but you can get the same quality pumpkins and better customer service at a Walmart.

Awwww Yea!!! Pumpkin Season in Morton, IL is THEBEST! I wouldn’t expect anything less from the Pumpkin Capital of the World! Ackerman Farms is a top notch local family(pumpkin) farm. They have a wide range of «fancy» pumpkins(various colors and shapes), blue ribbon pumpkins, and a plethora of pumpkins and gourds in all sizes! They also have great deals and farm activities like hay rides, petting zoo, and a corn maze. I’ve visited Morton plenty of times with the past seven years but I can’t believe my husband didn’t share this gem! I can’t wait to go back next season! :)

Made my second trip this past weekend, as part of our Pumpkin Fest visit to Morton … oh yeah, and to see family. Ackerman is a farm that has a retail pumpkin operation. Nicely set up and spread out with good parking. Jogging stroller friendly. Family friendly. Tons of pumpkins, gourds, etc. A couple of displays make for great photo backdrops. They also have a corn maze, some apple trees that can be harvested by visitors, and a great gift shop with seasonal house decoration and food stuff. There’s even a barnyard arrangement for the kids to see some of the standard farm livestock — a horse, a llama, some goats, turkeys, and rabbits. All of the animals are beyond fences, but are easily engaged. My only complaint is probably from not being from the area, really. This is on a 55-mph, two-lane highway. Slowing down to get in, and accelerating to get out could be challenging. Though, we have not had problems.
