I pulled in here during the week with a travel trailer on my way across country. They had 1 pull through spot and I was lucky to get it. The spots are a nice distance apart and the surroundings are great. Some spots are right on the water, if you can back up your RV. The rate was around $ 23 for a night and I stayed 2 to let a storm pass over. All you could hear was the wind, rain, trees, birds… so peaceful. I’d walk my dog at night and see some deer. The staff were super nice and everything was cared for. it’s 4 stars not 5 because of the high power lights at night and because my spot was backwards. I had to drive up the wrong way in the loop so that my hook ups would be on the right side. I’d stay again for sure.

Very nice campground! Many sites are big and right on the lake. Watched a couple of flocks of Canada geese land on the lake while enjoying my morning coffee. Beautiful tall pines. Only stayed one night so can’t speak to amenities.

Lovely spot and nice facilities but sodium vapor street lights in a campground??? Our tent site had three and they lit up our tent like it was day. Very hard to sleep and a campground should be dark at night. Isn’t that one reason we go camping? To escape light pollution. The whole place glowed bright orange like a city. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Would have been five stars but for this.

With three state parks in MS visited(one in Hollandale in Delta country, see my XXXX review of Leroy Elmore State Park and another in extreme eastern MS) I am quickly becoming a fan of this state’s park system! All three parks have had excellent shower houses and laundry facilities(a pleasant surprise). RSP has newly remodeled showerhouses that are clean and commodious. There is plenty to do here(although on Christmas Day as today we are the only ones in the Hannah Campground). Disc golf, tennis, lots of bird watching opportunities and hiking. There is generous space between campsites here and tall trees tower over all. Sites #11 and #12 are prime for viewing the lake at sunset. With dozens of small streams winding downhill with crystal clear water over a sandy bed, I’m sure mosquito season is quite bad out here. But right now, it’s beautiful with tall pines, waterfowl always in view, and plenty of quiet. In comparison with Texas State Parks even the poorest MS park has multiple activities for campers. The MS park authorities have put a lot of thought into how their parks contribute to campers’ recreation. Viva Mississippi State Parks!
