Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport – PIB

I have been flying for 10 years and have a few hundred thousand miles under me. That being said I have been to many great airports in my life so far.
This airport has its own charm I do admit. However, the TSA here is so much crappier than any other. I was late to a flight, but because this airport’s front desk staff is short there was no one at the desk and I had to miss the flight. If there was a front desk worker there to help me, I would have gotten on the plane. While waiting for a worker to come and address my rescheduled flight, there were a number of TSA members how could have given me notice that the plane and passengers were loaded already. Instead they all sat around and chatted. They even thought my lateness was funny (how cute). Or how «foreign» my parents were. Adorable how low paid walking uniformed potatoes can have the ability to talk about me or my family instead of actually helping me.
When a desk worker came in to address my situation, she did so with professionalism. Quickly gave me a priority pass and told to come back tomorrow morning. She was very nice and quick. I have seen her around every time I use this airport. She has consistently been her utmost professional each time and in every situation. She deserves my praise and a raise. While the brainless uniformed potatoes should be dealt with prejudice.

This airport was an experience — for sure. I called my friend to mention she should come 15 minutes after my flight lands so I’d have time to grab my luggage. She laughed at me and said that wasn’t necessary. I didn’t quite get why until I landed.
This airport must be what it was like to fly in the 1950’s. Free Parking, 2 flights a day, your friends can meet you planeside (no joke), a man carries your luggage and puts it on a 5 ft long conveyer belt, where it circles around in the short circumfrence until you grab it to take back home with you — hilarious!
It was 10,000 times easier to fly into PIB than Jackson. I recommend this airport if you can work their 2 flights into your schedule. Lets give this airport some business!

This is the only airport that I have been to that locks its doors. They only open when there are flights operating which happens to be a couple in the morning and some in late afternoon/​evening. I went an hour early to board a plane and had to wait outside in the parking lot because the doors were not open. Strange!
They tore up my luggage and did not even offer to replace it. Instead they tried to place the blame on me saying I over packed my suitcase. Come on now, I have been traveling all over the world since I was 10 months old. I know how to pack efficiently.
The two stars are for the ease of check-​in and security clearance. I guess it is easy when you only have 10 people traveling in the morning.
