We picked here because it was a last minute camping trip and was the only place that had an opening. The price was good. We ended up with a spot right next to the opening. There is no river access, a lot of yellow jackets and right next to the freeway. The showers are a push button which last for about 6 seconds. If you stay here I would just getting a site deeper in. Granted you will be closer to the train tracks.

My wife and I stopped here on the first night of our honeymoon, because it looked to be a potentially nice place. Well, and it wasn’t that bad, except for the highway being right there(no secret, you can SEE it, so if you’re not expecting it you’re kinda’ blind) and the rather run-down facilities.

Day 2 of our Oregon road trip landed us here. After camping at Diamond Lake, venturing through Crater Lake… we found this«State Park» campground to be very disappointing. You hear the cars on the freeway throughout the night, and the train passes by not too far as well. It honestly feels like I’m a hobo camping underneath an overpass. The sites are not secluded at all as it rests in an open recreational park space with playgrounds, public bathrooms and showers. I can see this as a decent and fun place for the family to hangout, but it’s definitely not campground of choice for«outdoor» enthusiasts. The plus sides include the view of the Columbia River, free and clean showers, water spigots at each site, and friendly people all around. Oh, and for some reason daddy long leg spiders abound at this site. Infestation is probably a better word.
