Incredible scenery and self-guided tour provided by the city. The cypress forest was just unbelievable.

Why or WHY has it taken so long for me to take my daughter here??? We had such a great time. Here are the suggestions I have for you. –Wear comfortable shoes that would be good for rugged and slick terrain such as keens or something similar. –Check the tides before you leave because otherwise you will not be able to really enjoy the tidepools. The best time is, of course, low tide. However you can make a couple hours before low tide work too. –Watch your step! Yes, it is slick but also there are creatures EVERYWHERE! Those globs of rocks are actually anemones. There are hermit crabs, CRABS, sea cucumbers, urchins, everything –Listen to the rangers and stay 300 feet away from the seals –If you walk south on the beach and go over all the rocks to the sandy beach, go up the stairs and you will be able to walk a very easy path back to the parking lot:) Enjoy your day!
