After perusing Unilocal for a salad place in Moultrie, I hit the direction button and ended up at the Market BBQ. Guess the cosmic powers wanted me here instead of the place I was looking for earlier. Classic Southern Buffet was the bull’s eye they were shooting for with great success. Despite the presence of a nicely stocked salad bar my diet took a day off. There greens and fixin’s look good but the hot bar was shouting my name louder. Tender turnip greens, big green beans, baked beans, baked sweet potatoes, & mac’n’chz kicked off the hot bar selections. I had greens and beans that were as good as Granny’s. BBQ chicken, fried chicken, pulled pork, BBQ ribs, and 3 kinds of bread completed the array of tasty meats on the hot bar. Pulled pork was tender and flavorful. The rib I had met expectations for hot bar bbq. The fried chicken, however, was over the fence. Yes, they had hit a home run with this classic southern buffet fare. Plenty of dessert was present but I had my diet to consider. So I turned my head and walked past the trays of cakes and pies and cups of banana pudding. My diet may have taken a blow today but my belly is Happy Happy Happy!

This is a lunch stop within the gates of the Farmers Market. Wonderful pulled pork and fried chicken. Three or four vegetables with a few starches. Served buffet style. Easy in and out. Sweet tea flowed. No real lemons.

Awesome southern style lunch buffet. Great fried chicken, mac n cheese, etc. Rustic-warehouse interior. Minus one star for the really weird hours(only really open for the workday lunch hours) and hectic free-for-all parking situation. It’s good enough that they should consider adding breakfast/dinner hours. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area(and they happen to be open!).
