I had Snell do some landscaping for me. The stonework was fine, but there was a big problem with planting and then Mr. Snell not wanting to make the mistakes good. His landscapers ripped out all my perrenials. They said they needed to make room for new plantings but when the plantings were made they hadn’t disturbed the place where the perennials had been. I think they thought they were weeds. They also removed several of my daffodil bulbs that were supposedly in the way. They had knocked all the dirt off them and separated them and it looked to me like they planned on taking them away. You don’t do that if you’re tossing them. I told them I wanted to keep them and they at least didn’t give me any trouble. Mr. Snell came and talked to me about the perennials because I told him I wanted to knock some money off the bill. He dug through the mulch a bit and said they would come back. They didn’t. So I contacted him again and said I wanted him to replace the flowers that had been destroyed and that I couldn’t find them locally any more. I said specifically that I wanted the Brazilian verbena that shot up about 4 feet on single stems and not the smaller one with several stocks. So when they called me to come get them they were the smaller ones with several stocks but all the stocks were cut away but one. I just took them in disgust feeling I’d vote with my pocketbook in future — which I have. That was last spring. This spring when I was digging a bed they’d dug when they were planting it was full of rocks that they’d obviously discarded from the stonework. I had to dig them each out with a trowel. It was a small area and the rocks could have filled a half gallon pot. Plus I just found the verbena on line that Snells destroyed. White Flower Farm has them for $ 7.50 a piece. They had torn out no less then 2 dozen. DON’T USESNELLS.
