My mother passed away in February 2014 after spending almost three amazing years being cared for by the incredible staff at Lorien Mt. Airy. The nurses on the floor, the respiratory therapists, the aides and our social worker were consistently competent, communicative and caring. The pulmonologist saw Mom regularly, was available for consults and provided his cell number for emergencies! These people contributed to the highest quality of life possible for my mom in her final years of life. Kudos to Lorien Mt. Airy

My mom has been staying here for over a week now for recovery and the physical therapy has been very beneficial. The problem is that she is a diabetic and the doctor refused to give her insulin at the prescribed dosage. Her sugar level rose to over 400(should be 100), and now she’s at great risk of infection. She would’ve been released by now but they must keep until they can get her glucose under control. The people have generally been nice, however, the doctor has not been. I am hurt, and angry with my experience here and encourage everyone to do research about the doctors that work here.
