Safeway

This is the worst Safeway I have ever been too. It is filthy dirty and I have numerous photos taken over the course of 2 years to back it up. The bathrooms are dirtier than any gas station and the Milk/​Dairy Cases smell so bad when you open the doors it knocks you over. The head management is rude, arrogant and condescending. I just phoned them regarding chicken breast I bought with a Sale By date 7 days from the date I purchased. That means that chicken is good for 7 days. I don’t think so. When I called and asked I was told not to believe everything the government tells you and that if they only put a 2 day sell by date they would have to throw most of their chicken away. I have reported this store numerous times and have never had a response from Safeway Corporate Headquarters. One of the saddest grocery stores that I have visited in the US.

This Store is dirty, the sale signs do not show the accurate price pertaining to that weeks sales, when brought to the attn of the staff they do not give the customer the sale price, which then is considered false advertising. The waiting in line after self checkout is closed (8pm) is @ least ten min. absolutely horrible experience every time. Will drive all the way to Weiss for my groceries!

Clean modern grocery store, lots of variety. They have a great bakery, competent pharmacy, and very good meat products. Produce is usually good. My only real complaint is that ever since they installed self-​checkout stations, the regular cashier lanes are markedly fewer. Since I am a regular here and rarely have less than ½ cart full, self-​checkout isn’t esp. helpful for me. I know they added self-​check for the Super Fresh customers who lost their regular store when it went under, but I sure wish they’d remember the regulars who REALLY liked the fully staffed cashier lanes!!!
