YUM. It’s definitely worth a quick trip to the Snappy Lunch, a Mayberry classic. The service is fast(really snappy) and friendly. The signature item, the ‘famous pork chop sandwich’, is pork tenderloin, lightly battered and served on a burger bun with tomato, mustard, onion, chili, and slaw. Lots of regional photos line the walls and the diner is visited by a steady stream of tourists and locals. Another item crossed off the bucket list!

Spent yesterday in beautiful downtown Mount Airy. Love coming here and walking Main Street. Stopped in at Snappy Lunch after hearing so many great things about this place. My friend and I both ordered the«famous» pork chop sandwich with bbq chips(a little disappointing that there are no other sides). My son ordered a hot dog. They serve those red hot dogs that I just think are GROSS but my son seemed to enjoy it okay. My pork chop sandwich was all the way, minus the tomato. I’d have to say the sweetness of the sandwich threw me off. I may get it without coleslaw next time(maybe add pickles???) and see if I like it any better. It wasn’t terrible, but I just didn’t care for the sweetness. To me, this was your typical sandwich shop here in Yadkin Valley. If it wasn’t for all of the history, I don’t think this place would be nearly as busy. The server we had was VERY sweet and well mannered.
