I was in Mt. Dora for the art festival. That day it was raining so we decided to grab some lunch at One Flight Up. This place is a little hidden upstairs but had a balcony area to sit. Due to the rain that day, this place was packed and unfortunately the rain kept us sitting inside. Got a sandwich which took some time with that many people there and then back out to the festival. Its a minimal menu with a selection of sandwiches and everything comes out on paper plates.

One of my favorite places to sit and think. Very comfortable and friendly service, great for casual dates and to watch sunsets.

My girlfriend really enjoys the coffee here. I’m not a coffee drinker but I figured I’d try it for the food. I’ve been twice. 2⁄3 times the service was less than welcoming. Nobody greeted me at the counter and three people walked by. After 5 minutes I left. Another time the service was excellent but the food was so so. The egg on my breakfast sandwich was probably frozen or something of that sort. Not horrible but not ideal. I did have one young barista who made the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted. If I were guaranteed to see him each time, I’d come back.

I really enjoyed their tomato basil & they make a pretty good tuna salad sandwich. Nothing out-of-this-world, but quality lighter-fared food. It’s a nice balcony to hang out and have lunch on on a nice breezy & sunny afternoon in historical downtown Mt. Dora. Friendly service, friendly atmosphere, good enough coffee, it’s worth multiple visits. Cheers.

I’ve been to this cute restaurant over 2 years now and I still love to stop by for quick and simple lunch from time to time. I love their harvest chicken salad sandwich & salad and lobster bisque is not bad. We stopped by for lunch today and their brie platter was a bit disappointing and the crackers were a bit stale. I do feel that their food quality is getting worse a bit based on my last 4 visits. Cup of soup didn’t come with crackers(i had to ask each time) and was barely warm, the salad looked sad and not fresh, chicken in the ceaser salad was overcooked and dry. Plus, the service wasn’t very good… they were nice but they forget forks, napkins, salad dressing, etc and we felt bad for keep asking. :-(i give 4 stars because it’s still a great place and I hope their food quality gets better!

We’ve been here several times every time is incredible with the exception of the last time. We arrived and the service was horrible and the waiters were very inattentive we actually had to ask to be served. we will return because we know their place is better than what happened to us.

Cute little place to stop. My husband and I went out for a motorcycle ride and just wandered into this place. Had a couple beers and the cheese platter which was great. Nice relaxed atmosphere. A pleasant stop.

I really like this spot. The location is amazing, with a nice outdoor area looking over Donnelly. The staff here is really welcoming and friendly, and the feel is just very comfy. It’s a great place to go and be productive or to chat and listen to good live music. Oh yeah, and coffee is good too!

Cool sandwich place. I had the half chicken salad and bean soup. Both were really good, but I kind of wish that I had gotten a whole sandwich as it was literally one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I have ever had. The server was awesome, funny, and seemed genuinely like he wanted us to enjoy ourselves and to have food that we actually ordered. I will definitely be back to this place.

One flight up is the perfect lunch spot. I came here with my mother and everything we had was delicious. I ordered the sandwich combo with half a tuna salad sandwich and a cup of tomato basil bisque. Both were well prepared and the meal was filling. My mother had the roasted turkey breast with swiss which came with a side of lays potato chips. The sandwich was a good size and she was stuffed. Both of our meals came with a pickle and olive garnish. For a drink we tried the frozen strawberry lemonade made with fresh strawberries; tasty! Overall I was very impressed with this place and plan to return soon.

Pros: A cute hip coffee location with enormous drinks and multiple ambiances. Cons: Outdoor seating can be directly in sun during the day. Bottom Line: A great homely and hip coffee location that is a favorite of the locals. I spent the day in Mount Dora exploring the local eateries and was happy to find this small café in the downtown area. One flight up literally takes you up a flight of stairs before you see the actual coffee room. There are 4 individual settings that each have a different ambiance. Outdoor seating is available with a fantastic view of the downtown street, however I would recommend you avoid sitting there mid-day as it can get really hot. The view is fantastic at night though. The drinks are absolutely huge! I was expecting an 8oz petite frozen chai latte but I got something close to the 24oz venti monstrosities of Starbucks. The flavor was pleasant and not overly sweet; it was definitely a welcome addition to the hot summer afternoon. Service is pretty chill; the servers will take their time getting to you if you’re alone but they definitely embody nice Southern hospitality. You should definitely take the initiative in getting their attention. I was offered more latte several times and even one to take home with me, although these drinks are so big that you’ll be hard pressed to want more. They offer some delicious looking spreads and sandwiches as well. Overall everyone is really friendly here and it’s definitely a necessity to any downtown area.

The best frozen coffee drink I have ever had! It was like a work of art. I had the frozen mocha, and it was fantastic. Not overly sweet, and very refreshing. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My son was at summer camp closeby, so I needed a spot where I could work remotely. Since no group had reserved their private meeting space, they let me set up there, and checked in on me throughout to day so I could order drinks or food – never any pressure to order, though! They just made sure I was all set. Even brought me a cup of water at one point! Of course I did order food, and everything tasted great. Fresh ingredients, well presented. I had the tuna sandwich. The desserts all look delicious, but since I splurged on the ginormous frozen mocha earlier, I resisted the temptation. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with a friendly staff, good sandwiches, and WiFi, hit Donnelly Street and go One Flight Up!

Great place to grab a bite to eat. Very nice staff, lots of atmosphere, and I LOVE the outdoor seating overlooking the street. The food was good, the prices were great and the location was perfect. If I didn’t live over a thousand miles away, this would be my new go-to spot for date nights and meetings with friends. Too bad I was just visiting the area on vacation! Highly recommended.

Easy place to grab a quick bite to eat for breakfast to-go. The Greek yogurt with granola was good, and the breakfast muffin as well for my husband. We’ve been here a few times for a simple patio snack, as well as for evening music. It’s a nice atmosphere. I can’t speak as much to the food. The service is decent. As visitors, I like this place for its upstairs view of downtown as well as the gallery paintings inside.

This was a fun gem to stroll across. It’s on the second floor and we sat outside on the balcony. It was a gorgeous day and this made our lunch even more enjoyable after a day of shopping. The waitress was pleasant and she was more than helpful with her suggestions. The soups and sandwiches we all had were great! The salad choices were plentiful and no one had a single complaint. I had the turkey and Swiss with a lobster bisque. There was no shortage of turkey and I could have taken their half of sandwich with soup and been content. The espresso was fresh and delightful. We will definitely return.

I don’t know what it is about this establishment, but I love it dearly. The first couple of times I went, I was a little overwhelmed. You just sit wherever and a waiter/waitress will come to you. You pay before you leave, but are rarely given a bill. I like this though, they’re never rushing you to leave. It’s very calm and chill. Now let’s talk about the food, yes it is a bit pricy, but it’s delicious and made with love. I recommend the frozen chai and one of their dips/cheese platters. It’s a fun restaurant to come meet up with old friends and just catch up. You don’t have to worry about a waiter bothering you every 2 seconds, but they’re around if you need anything.

I won’t lie– my first visit to One Flight Up was awful. So awful that my best friend who I was with will not even consider stepping foot in the place to this day. However I gave it another shot when another friend raved about the place. Let me tell you, the bread pudding is reason enough to throw away any old resentments. The space is quaint and comfy, and the service has improved 50 fold from what it was on my first visit. Get a latte with a side of bread pudding and thank me later.

A cute coffee-shop that offers light fare such as sandwiches as well as coffee, tea, and smoothies. As the name suggests, it’s located upstairs and overlooks one of the main downtown shopping streets in historic Mount Dora. I had a strawberry-lemonade smoothie and it was very good and home-made: no mixes, the girl behind the counter made it right there. I’m pretty impressed by that. They have seating inside plus a really charming balcony and also a small, nice yet somewhat odd room in the back behind a seperate art gallery which apparently can be reserved for special functions(the small room, not the art gallery, that is!) and the entire floor is shared with the coffee-house by at least two art galleries. It’s a bit hard to tell where one business ends and another begins, but is very charming nonetheless. The service was polite, friendly, and prompt. Despite what another review said, I was witness to none of the«locals-only» vibe that person described. I couldn’t have been more pleased, in fact.
