We were there this morning. Breakfast special was $ 5.39 for eggs, juice, & coffee or tea. But, since my friend didn’t want the juice(which saved them money), they charged her $ 5.99 for the eggs PLUS $ 1.99 extra for the tea. Besides, the food was just ok, nothing special. No, we won’t go back.

I was really looking forward to trying this place out because of the excellent reviews I read here. Unfortunately, my experience was just bleh. The mozzarella sticks w/marinara sauce was very salty, the fries were oily, my panini(which the waitress recommended) was bland. Speaking of waitresses — ours was a lady named Peggy. She didn’t have much of a personality

We live in Philadelphia, but we take the short trip over the bridge to this oasis of great food! Love the meatloaf! We came back especially for the pan seared meatloaf drenched in mushroom sauce. The fried mushrooms are always delicious and the veal parm was incredible! The service and everyone working there is so nice! Much kinder than some places in philly! You should definitely stop by here!

What a great diner here on the Black Horse Pike! Open 24 – 7 with a large menu for all meals! My wife enjoyed ravioli special and I had a great pork loin dinner! Clean, friendly and very reasonable prices with lots of parking too!

Absolutely love this place. Every last thing about it. The service was exceptional, and it takes a lot for my to say that. Our drinks never went empty, she was always checking in with us and updating us on our meal. The food was great. Crock of French onion soup was perfect, we got the Black Horse sampler and I was incredibly impressed with the wings and the size of the wings. They brought out 4 different sauces with it too. *winner* All in all diners are either a hit or miss. There is no in between. Amazing diner food, definitely a hit.

Came in at about 1AM early Wednesday morning. Fair amount of people eating there even at that time. Very nice environment, comfy seats/booths, nice décor, and restaurant color scheme. Food was good. Ordered the French toast with one egg and bacon. The one egg looked like at least 2 or 3. All very tasty and delicious. Our server was very polite and brought us everything we needed for our meal when our food came out. Pleasant experience, would visit again!

I have been eating at this establishment for many years, long before it became The New Black Horse Diner. The food is always very good and the staff is always friendly, courteous and customer –oriented. I have never had to return an order and have never had to complain about service. Whenever I want good food, served quickly and for a reasonable price, I stop at the Black Horse Diner. Cindy, a fine hostess, always gets us customers seated very quickly… and I really appreciate that. She is always pleasant and greets us with a smile. As a Diner, the New Black Horse Diner is still one of the best In the area. Spencer S.

Great diner, food is always good. Traditional diner food can’t go wrong here. Staff is wonderful, especially Ray one of the overnight managers. Always checks in on every table and does anything he can to help out.

It’s tough to be a diner around here. Some are awesome and some just blend in. This was a first in awhile, but I went with a pretty simple breakfast with some friends. Short stack of pancakes, bacon, and 1 sunny side-up egg. First off, I just said short stack and the waitress seemed to hesitate and said, «of pancakes?» I nodded my head, but my friend was taken back. Not sure what else a short stack of what, while at a diner, getting breakfast :) Small dining area. I’d certainly head back to try something else, but the pancakes were delicious.

We stopped in last night for my birthday… it was horrific. Not a single waitress came over to us. Finally the manager came over to take our order. 45 minutes later and we are still waiting for our food. I finally said something to the manager who then reordered the food and have the nerve to tell us they are busy and we didn’t need to be «rude about having to wait». Mind you, they weren’t busy!!! I have never in my life been treated like that, and on my birthday of all times, by a manager! I will never again come to this place and will make sure to tell every single person I know about the horrific treatment we were given by this establishment and night time manager. Thanks a lot!

Although prices went up a tad for the much needed much nicer looking diner, it looks great and is worth it… Still managing to have a better food to cost value then most diners in the area, I never leave this place unsatisfied. I’ve been around this place my whole life, infact my parents meet here, so I know the ins and outs of this place. I have been other diners to compare and most don’t come close. At this diner the prices are cheaper for ALOT more food, most importantly the food doesn’t have average diner taste. Try the prime rib, chickn olive broccoli, or the chicken fingers all 3 are my favorite

The Black Horse Diner used to be a pretty good place to eat. I don’t know what happened to change that, but Thanksgiving was my LAST visit. The food wasn’t great, but good enough. I have no complaints about the service. The restroom could have been cleaner. After the meal, I was too full for dessert, and made the mistake of ordering a piece of cheesecake to go. I ate that before going to bed. The strawberry topping looked like a big, red glob of thick, congealed goo. I tasted it, didn’t like it, and scraped most of it off. The cheesecake itself tasted very good. I’m now wondering how old the glob of goo was. I woke up around 3AM, feeling nauseous. The cheesecake came up. I felt better after that, and went back to bed. I woke up again two hours later, again feeling nauseous. The corn came up. I hadn’t eaten anything else Thanksgiving day, except a banana, and I’ve been fine since Friday. I WON’T be returning to the Black Horse Diner.

Right up there with the best NJ diners. The portions are huge, the staff is friendly, and the prices are beyond reasonable. They are open 24 hours too, nothing bugs me more than«diners» that close. Love love love this place!

Very unhappy with my recent visit. My usual $ 12 «PM» breakfast, is now almost $ 16! I ordered my usual cheese omelette, only to find out homefries and toast are no longer included, but a $.99 combination upcharge. My side of sausage cost $ 3.99…about a $ 1.50 increase. The interior was recently remodeled, and I expected a corresponding price increase. But 25−30% is a bit much. I used to go out of my way to eat here, now I’ll just be passing by.

Among diners in South Jersey, this one is better than most. Great service, beautiful interior. Relatively clean. I ordered a bleu cheeseburger, and my wife had a chicken Gyro. Everything was fresh and tasty. The coleslaw and pickle were exceptional. Clean restrooms, refills come quickly, and the wait staff was very attentive and thorough. With that definitely recommend this place, will return again for a quick bite.

Typical South Jersey diner. We use this place mainly for takeout cole slaw. One Thanksgiving about ten years ago my mom didn’t feel like making it, and we all still really wanted it, so we got a quart from Black Horse Diner. Now it’s a tradition and my mother has never made coleslaw since. They are always open, even on holidays.

I have never ordered anythign but the honey fried chicken basket. It is very good for a diner. Went once on the way home from an Eagles game and every now and again I get a craving for their fried chicken. Certainly not the best fried chicken that I’ve had, but very good and a pretty good deal(comes with friends and a small amount of onion rings). Service wasn’t terrific, but I don’t expect great service at any diner. Not the cleanest place, but I don’t expect diners to be super clean.
