Food is pretty good… Had the pulled pork sandwich… Be sure to order extra sauce. I did and mine was great but my husband did not and his was pretty dry. Was a bit pricey, but not too bad. My one big complaint? The menus are all over the place. I counted 3 on the walls plus the table menu. They have nice specials but this place is so dark inside it feels like an old honky tonk and we didn’t see the wall mounted menus until we were half way thru our meal… Was a bit put out about our waitress not telling us about the specials. I guess they are used to town regulars and didn’t feel it was necessary to let«strangers» know about them. I really felt like an intruder at this place… And felt uncomfortable overhearing the waitress complaining about another waitress. So-so service. Np refills offered on our tea and we were pretty much ignored after we got our food. It’s really geared up for locals. OK place to eat… But if you’re not starving you might want to try the next town in either direction

It looks like a dump, but it was clean, the waitress was efficient and pleasant, and the food was great!

Better than any other breakfast around the area. Very filling and for a fair price. Be sure to try their biscuits!

I’ll have a side of racism with my steak please. Food was pretty decent(we both had steaks, baked potatoes and salad– ask for dressing on the side, trust me) waitress was very friendly. The table of 5 – 6 local yokels loudly spewing their ass-backwards political views on *gasp* MEXICANS, well, I could have done without. Oh yeah, and the creepy leering as I waked by.(Sorry sir, your toothless grin is just not doing it for me) Yes, its a tiny town in AR, so what was I expecting, right? I know, I know…

We stopped here on a cross-country trip and found the service to be much better than the food. Our waitress was a delight — friendly, helpful, attentive and very sweet; sadly, she was the best part of our dining experience. The burgers were mediocre, and they don’t have mashed potatoes on the menu which detracted from an otherwise tasty chicken fried steak. The rest of the dinner for our party of four was entirely forgettable. Because Mt. Ida is a small community, there aren’t many choices for in-town dining. The Mt. Ida Café is good for a hot meal, but not a destination. They take no credit or debit cards. There is an ATM at the gas station down the street; be sure to bring cash with you(or a checkbook).

Don’t go here if you want to eat healthy, everything fried, I ended up with a small salad, a baked potato and pinto beans, best I could do here. Service was good, place was clean. Highly recommended by local’s???
