I came here for a banquet and this review is based on both of my sons and myself. First off, I have dietary restrictions — they were made aware well before the event — i was promised a plate of pasta with no cheese, they came back and said«Oops, we already put the cheese on sorry». They brought me some overcooked green beans(tasted frozen), a cheap frozen veggie medley, and 4 overcooked redskinned potatoes. Awful. My younger son said he only liked the chicken, but he did eat three pieces. My other son just had some of the cookies. Overall, awful. Banquet food doesn’t have to be overcooked and boring, please, try harder.

I was at the gathering place for two events, first a wedding reception on a Saturday night, and a Sunday Brunch. The Sunday brunch was an interesting experience. There are basically long tables set up throughout the room with a table cloth on top. The food is a buffet, the selection is decent, however the food was just okay. If you plan to have a nice meal with a family don’t go here. They give you a free meal for your birthday and the staff is constantly going from table to table singing this really annoying birthday song. The place is really noisy so as it is but this birthday song makes it even worse. The bill was very expensive as well. The reception was decent, another buffet style and the food was good. I liked this better because they had round tables so everyone could see each other. The bathrooms are very small so when you have that many people, there will be a wait. The Gathering Place does all sorts of events but my review is mainly on the food and Sunday brunch. *** Effective September 8, 2013, the Gathering Place will no longer be offering a free birthday meal. *****
