Great little Mexican restaurant in a small town. It’s a small place with 8 tables total. We had a good meal, chiles rellenos, very good. We also found Menudo there, but our disappointment in that… no hominy. Their chips there serve you could be better, seemed too thick.

I enjoy Mexican food, but the flavors seemed off when my husband and I had dinner here. It also did not seem to be well kept. There were a lot of flies/insects and the cleanliness seemed questionable(not appetizing). The portion sizes were excellent, but we’d rather pay more for higher quality food.

This place was really highly recommended to me by my cousin and her husband, whom I visit when in the Lancaster-area. During a recent road trip(for me), I stopped to see them both and we ended up ordering takeout from Tres Hermanos. It was a Sunday night, so they had to double check to make sure it was open(knowing how so many things in Lancaster shut down on Sundays). Thankfully, it was open! We checked out the menu, placed our order, and the food was ready for pick-up after just 10 minutes. While we all ordered different things, I opted for an order of the marinated pork tacos. Three tacos come in an order, and it was the perfect amount of food to account for my dinner for the night. The tacos themselves were delicious and had an authentic taste of Mexico. The three of us nibbled on chips for the rest of the night too, dipping them in tasty red and green salsas. TL;DR Delicious food with an authentic taste. Bonus: open Sundays in Lancaster! :)

Since it was my first time being there, I decided to try something I’d never heard of, so I ordered the Chili relleno. The waitress said it was stuffed peppers, basically. When they came out, it wasn’t what I had expected. Of course, I should have figured that it was more of a Mexican pepper and not a big green pepper like I had in my head. Having said that, the food was pretty good. However, the flour tortillas lacked flavor. I wasn’t sure how to eat this dish, so I cut up some of the peppers and rolled them in the tortillas. I wished that I would have had hot sauce to go with this dish that also included refried beans and rice. The sad part for me is that I really didn’t enjoy my meal, but that’s probably because I picked something that was too different. I tasted my friend’s flautas and it was very good. I will try this place again, and maybe next time get something that I already know I will enjoy and update my review. The price wasn’t bad. You can find the menu with prices online.

Amazing food! I would expect to find something this good in a city, not in Mt Joy. I love the tamales.

We ordered the green cheese enchiladas, nachos and a hard taco for our kid, all were delicious. The food was amazing, as authentic as any true Mexican food I’ve eaten, and I grew up in Idaho where the Hispanic immigrant community is as significant as it is in California. The service is friendly and genuine, the ambiance is fantastic, and they even have a small market. Highly recommend this for Mexican food, and it’s amazing this gem is in humble Mount Joy.

A TRUEHIDDENGEM!!! I checked out this place because of the Unilocal reviews. I must honestly say that it exceeded every expectation. The environment was warm and inviting and the servers were patient, friendly, and engaging. She even took extra time to help my roommate pick the perfect dish. Something that other«authentic» Mexican restaurants seem to miss As for the food, I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. I use to frequent El Rodeo, which is delicious. But Tres Hermanos brings an extra layer of flavor that I can only assume comes from their kitchen’s love for cooking. Portions are huge and the prices are unbelievably low. Tres Hermanos has surpassed every expectation! You must give this hidden little gem a try.

Thank you Unilocalers for such a great recommendation! This restaurant is such a gem if you like authentic Mexican food! The front looks like a store and there are adorable booths in the back that are large and comfy. The restaurant is really well lit the servers could not be more friendly. I ordered three steak tacos and they were bursting with delicious grolled meat, onions and cilantro. I ordered three but had to take one home as the serving was so generous! At Only a couple of dollars each, this was a definite bang for my buck! I would come back here in a heartbeat :)

Nice selection of all the classics and some items I’ve never had. The food was good, slightly less salty than I’m used to but this may actually be a good thing since my usual complaint of many Mexican food places is that they over salt everything. Waitress was attentive and friendly and offered us a sample of the Horchata which was really delicious, I’ll make sure to have a glass on our next visit.

Tried this place strictly because it had good reviews on Unilocal… and GLAD I did. Great place for authentic Mexican food, without breaking the bank! Service was attentive, but did not smother you. Food came out prompt and the servings were very large! My entire party of 5 guests left with leftovers! I will be back here again very soon! BYOB.

I have traveled to Mexico and I can say without a doubt that this gem is the real deal. The food is outstanding and the staff is very friendly. Our food was delivered promptly but not rushed. I had the Chimigunga with shredded chicken and my wife had a taco salad. Both were fresh and very appealing. For my money this is the best Mexican restaurant in Lancaster County.

This is the best Mexican I have ever had! Very authentic food. The people are nice, the restaurant is clean. I have had the tamales, chimichangas, chicken burritos, hawaiian fajitas, and the chicken taco salad. All are superb. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Mexican meal.

Who knew that a place in Mount joy offered authentic Mexican food. I we ordered the nachos and it came with 3 different meats for only 7.99! I’ve been to the Mexican restaurant in Lancaster and this place is by far my favorite mexican. The lady was very nice and food came out promptly. They even have different flavored churros! Great food and great prices

This is easily one of the best hidden eateries of Mount Joy and lancaster. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff maybe one of the most nice and attentive around. We had our two year old son along and there were no issues. For starters we had the nachos supreme which had all the traditional nacho sides plus steak, chicken, and chorizo. The distribution of toppings was not skimpy and the addition of the homemade salsa made for the perfect bite every time. Our son had the chicken quesadilla kids meal and for $ 4.49 it may one of the best kid meal deals around. The quesadilla consisted of shredded chicken and traditional queso fresco and was paired with rice. The rest of our party had chicken enchiladas with green sauce, chile rellano, and shredded chicken tostadas. Each dish, with the exception of the tostadas, came either choice of beans and rice. We choose to eat our meals family style and share. The food was flavourful and hot when it arrived as everything is made to order. Excellent dining experience.

I grew up in California and have spent most of my life, including time in Mexico, searching for the best Mexican food. This is right up there with the best I’ve had from Oxnard to Oaxaca. There are several dishes catering to the Americanized tastes of the locals of this area, but there are plenty of things on the menu that skip the whole glop-of-cheese thing invented in Texas and showcase the purer, lighter style of cooking you actually find south of the border.

Not sure if this is the exact restaurant we frequented in July 2013 but the address is right and it’s the most recent listing. A few Mexican restaurant listings are under this address and we never received a printed receipt. First off let me say this is the kind of place that leaves you guessing if it’s a restaurant or counter service. You order at the counter, then sit down but go back up for your bill so it’s confusing whether to tip or not. We found the wait for our food long and service lackluster so we choose not to tip. There’s also come confusion on where and who to pay. There’s two registers — one at the food counter and another in the grocery area and were instructed to pay in the grocery area. I ordered a beef taco salad that was described as coming with cheese and sour cream for $ 7.99. I had requested no onions and tomatoes but when my dish arrived it came plain with none of the above. I immediately asked for and was brought some cheese and sour cream. The portion size was large, a little too big for the small plate it was served on which made for a messy dining experience but the meat was placed throughout the salad and was well seasoned. My boyfriend ordered a beef burrito. He’s quite familiar with Mexican cuisine since he grew up in the Kennett Square area and has ate at many of the Mexican food trucks in that area. He found his burrito to be disappointing and described it as a plain hamburger in a taco sauce instead of authentic shredded beef. His portion was also small and not filling. The problem arose when we went to the counter to get our bill and I saw they charged me an additional $ 2 for cheese and sour cream. The lady at the counter argued with me that the charge was for the shredded cheese and my response was that I asked for what it was supposed to include and this is what was brought out to me. I showed her the menu several times and she kept arguing about the cheddar cheese to the point that other patrons became aware of what was going on. She made no explanation for why there was a charge for the sour cream which was to be included. In the end she removed the $ 2 charge and we were on our way. On the plus side the place appeared clean and had an overwhelming selection of choices, although not all of them were explained in good detail. There was also a small grocery area selling an assortment of fresh and canned Mexican products.
