When I first walked in, I was terrified that I walked into another Bookworm, which is a horrible, useless place posing as a bookstore. The one thing I will say that after shopping and making a purchase is that the place is very poorly organized and felt kind of dirty. Looking back on my experience, the way I’ll look back on it with some perspective is that it seemed like a Goodwill thrift store for books. I say with perspective because once I got to looking through the stacks, I actually kind of appreciated their selection of what I looked at. By the time I was done, I realized that, like a thrift store, you search through the stuff, and you’ve got a reasonable chance to get something you’ll enjoy at a reasonable price. It is what it is. This place isn’t changing the face of booksellers, but it serves a nice little purpose. Now beyond all this, I like the fact that this store has a purpose. This store wants to carry on the memory of a beloved family member who died of cancer. They donate a percentage of their revenue to charity. That’s awesome. This isn’t quite the place that gives you exactly what you want, but if you’re willing to work a little bit, you’ll find a bit of gold. Worth the visit.
