This office is impossible to schedule with… If you need to see a doctor you can make an appointment to see one in 2 months!(seriously!) or try calling for their«open access» program. Cant get in that day? Don’t worry… you can keep trying by calling early every morning and maybe by the 5th day they’ll get you in.

This office is an ironic arrangement for providing family care. The medical assistants that rotate in and out are a luck of the draw(especially considering they may vaccinate your child as what seems to be part of their clinical hours and give you a poor attitude about you needing to change your child’s diaper in the office… like they just graduated from babysitting for pocket change.) The health perspective pushes antibiotics a lot, even for unilateral acute otitis media for which a discussion about antibiotic use or not as a treatment option is encouraged… my 18 month old’s first infection this past fall has just worsened throughout the winter with them. All smiles he has been in the meanwhile. And now, no medicine to help. When it might not even have been a good route — you won’t get that discussion. I just don’t think this is a great place for kids, especially under 5.

So, only recently have I switched over to an adult doctor(having avoided the doctor during college, I was still on the list at my pediatrician), but I couldn’t be happier at Bruneau Family Care. This is an all-female practice, which I didn’t even think was a thing, but apparently it is. I visited early on a Wednesday morning, and everyone was very kind– especially as I had no idea what I was doing(yay, independence?). The RN brought me to the back and took my basic vitals, while also explaining the practice to me. Then I met Dr. Bruneau. She was very friendly and efficient and I definitely feel comfortable to return in the future. One small note, though, if you are the kind of person that is always in a hurry, Bruneau might not be the best choice for you. Everyone is pretty laid-back there(or so my impression went), so it’s a very calm office that takes its time with everything. I prefer calm doctors, so this was a good choice for me.
