I prefer this Shoprite over the big one in Hainesport. The layout of the store is easy and makes sense. I can run in and grab a few things and be out fast. The lines are usually short if you shop in the morning or late evening. It can be a bit of a madhouse between 4 and 6 pm, but I suppose that’s to be expected anywhere. The manager is always walking around asking people if they need help with anything and makes customers feel welcome. I’m a sentimental kind of girl and I like the small town feel of this store. The selection isn’t that extensive, but it’s a rare occasion when I actually need something they don’t carry. The smaller selection makes it easier to grab and go. I like all the cashiers, too. I haven’t met a grumpy one yet. Maybe that’s why I like coming here so much(well, as much as a person can like grocery shopping). I get to see the same faces and have actual conversations as they’re ringing up my purchases. I have brought home expired packaged goods, but their customer service is excellent and they gave me money back with an apology. One of the few drawbacks is the long line at the customer service/lottery/tobacco counter. The parking lot is much easier to deal with than the Hainesport Shoprite. Not gonna lie, I haven’t tried Wegmans just because of their parking lot. I’ve heard I’m missing out, but I’ll stick to my little Shoprite where I know the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly.

I started shopping recently in hopes to save a few dollars– as my regular market is wegmans. I’ll admit, I do save about $ 20 on my trips to shoprite, but now I know why. The quality of their produce, and meats are HORRIBLE. The produce department is awful. The selection is horrible, half the veggies I want aren’t even available fresh– only in bags! Fruit is tiny and expensive. Bananas are covered in brown spots. The meat is all tough– chicken or beef, doesn’t matter. Bottom line is– good sales for packaged goods(chips, cans, sauces, etc), but that’s it. Not to mention this store is very depressing. It’s not an enjoyable shopping experience at all. Wegmans is worth it

Horrible customer service and your fish section stinks up the whole store. Even though this place is right across the street, ill stick with Wegmans.

This is a standard shoprite and leaves much to be desired in my opinion. I cannot complain about the staff. I have always found them helpful. My complaints are with the overall look and feel of shoprites. To me they mostly come off as somewhat dirty/dingy and I hate that. It may just be me but I avoid Acme and shoprite for these reasons. Although the shoprite in Hainesport is pretty good. I generally only visit this location if I am in a pinch and don’t have the time to go to wegmans because I live in the condos right across from this complex.
