OMGosh… This homemade ice cream was DELICIOUS! So creamy and refreshing with none of the funky aftertaste. Our party enjoyed the lemon ginger… with delicious bits of lemon, creamsicle, and vanilla. We live in the Rochester area, but we will absolutely be creative in finding excuses to go to Mt. Morris… just for the ice-cream. It made Perry’s and other store brands to shame.

Happened to see this while passing through Mount Morris and was really glad I stopped.(Note to owner: making your shop more visible would probably be a worthwhile investment! And you should really emphasize the homemade angle!) The flavors today were a bit on the eccentric side, but I suppose you can do that when you’re creating your own. What I liked most about the whole operation was what I saw when the young man served my double scoop: instead of big open barrels in an open freezer, with the ice crystals and skin that form when you hit the bottom of the barrel, these guys have sealed boxes that they open when you order. The result was completely fresh-tasting ice cream. I assume that’s how they always do it, but I don’t know that. Oh, the ice cream: very creamy and my unusual flavor — root beer float — was nicely understated rather than overpowering. I would recommend a few more typical flavors but I loved what I ordered. Just would be glad to see them with more customers on an 80+ degree summer day!

Kids loved the homemade ice cream in waffle cones. Large portions and nice selection. But they are stuck in the 80’s and do not accept credit card.

This is one of those easily unnoticed gems in a small town that the locals keep quiet about so they can have it all to themselves. If you find yourself in Mt. Morris, I can’t recommend this place enough! The ice cream is so creamy and smooth and comes in a variety of both traditional and creative flavors like sea salt caramel coffee and lemon ginger. The serving sizes are huge and a small size was more than enough for me. The dining area is kept very clean and is decorated in a quaint old fashioned style. The people that work there are really friendly and professional and all the ice creams are made on site. Prices were reasonable, a small cone/cup runs 3 bucks. cash only I am looking forward to trying a milkshake next time I go.

Let me start by saying that I have two different ratings for this place, and have combined them to make three stars. Layout, appearance, atmosphere = 1 star Ice cream quality, flavor = 5 stars The front windows and logo design are actually really nice and inviting, but its confusing once you open the door. When you walk into Zeppo’s, you are immediately aware of a strange smell that permeates the building, which I believe used to be an auto garage before turning into an ice cream parlor. It’s not clear where you go to actually get ice cream, and it feels like you’re walking into the back kitchen just to place an order. The ice creams themselves are not actually visible, and are kept in a closed freezer behind the counter. This is rather unusual, as I definitely want to see the ice creams that are available for me to order. I ordered the key lime coconut ice cream, which was beyond delicious, and I consider myself an ice cream expert. My husband ordered the honey walnut ice cream, and I actually think I heard him growl when I tried to get a spoonful. The ice creams were out of this world. They were the perfect amount of creamy, without being soooo fatty that you have a film in your mouth and on your lips. Perfectly refreshing and obviously made from scratch, as mine had visible lime zest and pieces of real coconut, not just flavoring. The ingredients here are definitely worth trying the ice cream. Serving sizes are large, as a «small» is actually 3 full scoops of ice cream and I ended up getting a kid portion(1scoop), which was plenty! Prices are reasonable, at $ 2.75 for a small(cone or dish). We will definitely get the ice cream again, but hope that the layout and aroma are taken care of soon, as I’m not sure everyone will be as forgiving, and it would be nice to be able to eat inside on a hot day. They do have picnic tables with umbrellas outside, which was very nice, since we didn’t want to stay inside.
