My 14 year old son would visit every Gamestop on the planet if given the chance. Given his proclivities and motivation, it could happen… Not that I would join him in his Vision Quest, but I have been with him on many of his explorations, including this one in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. It seems basically identical to all the others we have been to, but that must be because his perception of the world of digital gaming is much deeper than mine. Perhaps, it is the way I get when visiting rock shops. I could spend all day examining specimens, while everyone else is bored out of their skulls. So, we came, we saw, we consumed. The well-tatted dude behind the counter was serenely in tune with son’s curiosity, and they embarked on a dialogue in some foreign tongue alien to my knowledge. It was animated, technical, and they were totally into it. I could just watch, listen and marvel. Gamestop is more a way station on the digital spaceway, where like-minded cadets find fellowship and answers to their innermost questions.
