Great shakes and decent burgers. Compliments over. From the extremely small booths to the hair in my fries, it wasn’t a good experience. The waitress asked for payment before we even touched our food and CASHONLY. If you don’t have cash they have an ATM for you. They didn’t even know what kind of coneys they served. And everything is overpriced for what you get.

I hate to be a cantankerous old man but… What a disappointment! This was so well reviewed but in reality it was a very underwhelming experience. The buns were straight out of the bulk bargain bin with no flavor and overall the burger tasted like a cafeteria serving. The onion rings were clearly made from frozen. One of the most off putting things was that when I asked for a pickle slice, after discovering it missing on my burger, I was asked for 50 cents. Now I can afford 50 cents, but really? One slice of pickle cant be included with a burger? That cemented the one star review for me. The butterscotch milkshake was great, unfortunately it was the only part of our meal that was delicious. Old man rant over.

We were so disappointed! This was the first restaurant we have walked out of in a long long time because of bad food. We expected great things based on the Unilocal reviews. We both ordered burgers and fries with the home made chips. The burgers arrived cold, the fries where not completely cooked through and the chips were not crisp, they were soggy. Also the burger was thin and everything was overprice, even prepared right.

Orders of onion rings and the fish sandwich, chocolate malt. Onion rings are hand dipped, hot and crunchy. Excellent tast. Fish sandwich and malt also fabulous.

Had a Jon’s Country Burger, onion rings, and donut sundae. ALL were fresh and delicious! Will definitely come back when I visit Soaring Eagle again.

I am old enough to remember what a drive in burger joint is supposed to be. Let me tell you, this place remembers too. The food is simple, well made and delicious! The service is fast, friendly and confident. So, if you’re ever in Mt. Pleasant, MI drive past all the fast food, big chain bs merchants and give Jon’s Drive In a try. It will be well worth your time.

I must have a Jon’s Country Burger every time I come home to Mt. P. it might be a little pricey but worth every bite. If you want through can still order from and dine in your car.

Yes, the place is eye-catching and charmingly retro. But it is overpriced and portions are by no means generous.

I’ve been eating here since the mid 1970s when I would come from Farwell to visit my friend who moved to Mt. Pleasant when we were in high school. Noteworthy are the drinks you can’t get anywhere else — the Brown Cow and Boston Cooler — root beer and ice cream mixed and the Vernor’s and ice cream mixed. The coney’s and the gyros are really well done as are the onion rings. Diner food fantastic!

My friends and I used to walk to Jon’s from all the way across town so that we could load up on all the delicious but not exactly healthy for you food at Jon’s. You can either sit in your car or go inside and I’ve done both. The food can be messy so I prefer to go in but it’s definitely a nice drive-in experience to eat in your car. Forget Sonic… this is the real deal! The burgers are great(A huge burger from Jon’s was the first thing I ate after giving birth to my daughter!) as are the delicious homemade onions rings. The fish and chips as well as the shrimp and chips are nice simple Midwest iterations. The best thing on the menu is a hot doughnut sundae… the doughnut is deep-fried(I believe) then smothered in ice cream and hot fudge and it is outrageously good. Even if I am stuffed from all the other food, I can always eat at least a few bites… if not the whole thing. This is definitely a Mt. Pleasant institution and I hope it stays that way for a very long time to come.

So many places try to recreate the 1950’s Drive-In. This place IS one and has been there for over 50 years. Great burgers and shakes, don’t miss the home made onion rings,(go for the large order). They have curb service and deliver your order on a treay or you can be seated inside. HEADSUP: NO debit or credit cards but they have an ATM inside.
