Okay, I’m from California too. I am not sure what everyone is raving about. The«Mexican» food was nothing like back home., mediocre at best. My mom had the 3 enchilada dinner, based on one of the reviews, and I had the chicken platter. Not a fan. That being said, the waitress was very nice.

Stopped here a few days ago for some lunch after spending several days camping. There wasn’t a very large crowd which meant I was seated immediately. The waitress that helped me was friendly and helpful. I decided on the Grande Enchilada dinner which were three different enchiladas(chicken, cheese, and beef) with different sauces. All three were great and had a good amount of filling. I definitely did not leave Jorge’s hungry. If you’re looking for some reasonably priced Mexican food in the area this is a great place to eat at.

YES! Real Mexican food… none of that Tex-Mex stuff! As new transplants to the area we have been checking out the local restaurants. After much«meh» food from the other places… Jorge served us some to die for grub. The food was piping hot, tasty and really quite affordable… our family of 5 got out of there for about $ 40. We really enjoyed the fresh salsa and the chips as well. Bonus points for the amazing witness by the owner… it was refreshing to meet a man so willing to share his faith without any sort of shame. We will be back.

Everything was delicious! We have lived in San Antonio for the last 5 years and this place is Authentic Mexican Food! The chips, salsa, tortillas, queso, fajita meat, and service were all excellent! Will definitely be going back!

Travel in through Mt. Pleasant stopped and honestly the food was ok. I don’t recommend to stop if you’re looking for a drink. This place does not serve alcoholic drinks! The chili con queso was good but not worth a second trip, the food seems to lack spice. The service was good and the price was a little high for the quality of food served.

Great food! Chili con Queso is real deal. Best Mexican food in town. Salsa was supper fresh and they give you a container to refill you own. Great price and friendly service. Needs to be on the TV show on the Food Network.

The food was fantastic! I’m from California and this food was definitely up to par with what I eat in California. Only reason why I stopped by was because I saw a sign off the freeway for barbecue so I was really interested in seeing that place and seeing if they would so happen to have a veggie bbq burger or something, but then I saw how terrible the reviews were and that many were fooled by this billboard that convinced them to stop by. So instead I turned around and drove down the other way on the street and came across this wonderful place. I ordered the pupusas and they definitely tasted homemade. I only knocked off a star because my sister ordered the cheese enchilada(which was also awesome!) and I ordered pupusas with only bean and cheese(usually comes with beef) and you’d figure we may sound like vegetarians, but the sauce over the enchiladas had meat in it. Usually when I order a cheese enchilada, I don’t think to ask whether the sauce is also vegetarian or not. But I’m not too upset with them for not thinking to ask us based on our orders. I also love that they give you a whole container of salsa along with the bowls of salsa they give you with your chips, so that you can just refill the bowls yourself instead of always have to ask. That is pretty genius and should become a trend among Mexican restaurants. The basket of chips they give you is also very plentiful. They are not dingy at all. They messed up our bill in the end and added on some stuff we didn’t order, but they were very kind about it and I believe I saw the owner walking around checking on customers as well. He’s the one who came by to fix our bill for us. Definitely a great hidden gem and if I’m ever on a road trip again, I’ll try to remember to stop by this place(can’t miss it with that huge misleading wonderful barbecue sign). Try the pupusas!

QUICK! BEFOREMYMEMORYFAILSAGAIN! We were very impressed with this place last summer, but my review disappeared because of a Unilocal glitch. So here I am, months later, trying to give them credit when I can’t remember what we ate. Sopas, I think. Whatever it was it was outstanding.

Christian owned restaurant that is proud to display their faith. Excellent Mexican food. Excellent friendly service. One of the few restaurants in town that has bottled water, sopes and the only one that has papusas.
