Love the margaritas and nachos but the corn tacos suck. As an extreme taco lover I would not order them again. Wish they had a taco special that didn’t involve buying a beer also. Just want cheap tacos and margs.

Horrible service with just average food. I am not sure if our server was old enough to work legally. They should at least train their servers. Never going there again.

Been to King St. many times… Never knew this place existed until last night. Stopped in there for Cinco De Mayo. Like most of King St. it got sloppy. I wont take that out on the bar but it did seem to be more of a divey bar. One where mostly College crowd would frequent. The bartenders were good and prompt. Good times were had. They have a random portapotty in the outdoor seating area… I feared to go near it.

I like to consider myself a nacho connoisseur but mostly I just love all nachos. However, these rank in my top 5 nachos. First, the portion is huge… I was sad that I couldn’t eat them all. Second, they’re nice and simple. No fancy ingredients or weird cheese, just some meat, beans, queso, lettuce, jalapenos and a side of salsa and sour cream. That’s all you really need in a good nacho. I couldn’t give it 5 because my eating mates weren’t as impressed with the tacos. None of us got the Nacho Royale, which was stupid on our part because of the name and all. But lets go with Nachos are a 5 and Tacos are a 3 and call it even.

These are some of the best tacos I’ve had anywhere. The corn tortillas are firm but yielding, and the flavors, when savory, are just perfectly kick ass. My only complaint about the tacos, and people may roll their eyes and think«This guy,» is that they’re a bit overstuffed. Trimmed a little would suit me more, but hey, still marvelous.

Was going to go with 4-stars, but if you have to pay for chips and salsa. that knocks off a few points in my book. Must go with Average here… Bacon Ranch and Blknd Shrimp and Gyro and Fish Taco are all pretty tasty. Go with the flour taco shell and Lamb on the Gyro selection. Salsa was a bit of a disappointment. didn’t have much body or flavor for that matter. almost like out-of-the-jar marinara sauce. Place was Noisy. from both the over-amped music and the outside traffic. Conversations were near shouting level to compete. Elizabeth was our server and was quite nice.

I was thoroughly impressed with the tacos at Juanita. The menu isn’t very big, but the tacos they offer are delicious and worth trying. I had the taco platter, which is only $ 9 and allows you to pick from their selection and mix and match. The service is extremely fast. If your looking to get a quick bite or are in a hurry you can get out in mere minutes. The only negative aspect of my visit was that the server seemed not to care. He forgot to bring us our appetizer. The tacos made up for the mistake though.

I did Super Bowl here with Friends. First of all they need to fire the entire bar staff! The service was beyond bad. We had to clear our own table while the bartenders flirted with each other. The treated the customers like we were annoying them. I was really shocked by how few people were here for the game. They must know something I did not. Change your staff they truly suck!

Yuck. Had a to go order. Got home and the burritos were soggy. The outer shell was mush and we had to discard half of it, with the insides dropping out as you go. Flavor was subpar. Beware… Nachos Royale are not nachos. It’s a pizza. Yes, it’s says«flour tortilla» on the menu but it should be pointed out more boldly for us first timers. Looked like more of a bar. Might go back just for drinks and some regular nachos.

Laura and I have been going to Juanita’s for awhile now. We really like this place for casual, quick food. They do a happy hour special where you get 2 tacos and a house draft beer for $ 7.00. Not bad, but the draft beer is something like Bush Light. I use to drink that shit in high school! But the tacos are really good. I highly recommend the beef taco and the chicken on corn taco. The hot sauce they use on the chicken corn taco is absolutely excellent! They also have a juke box, so bring your ones and make it purple rain. Ha!

First time visit for a quick lunch. This is Tex MehX mish-mash and the only place I have ever been that apparently believes salsa is actually spaghetti sauce. Had the so-so chicken tacos and an overdose of hot sauce was a great improvement. Will return next time I am very drunk. Hey, Juanita… Oy vey!

Not bad. Great atmosphere and probably a decent place to meet up for some beers or margaritas(though their blender was broken so frozen was unavailable.) The food was pretty decent, but not great. They have some of your basic staples of Mexican food. The queso was pretty good and the beef tacos with corn tortillas had a nice kick to it. The service is pretty good. The building is cool and they have TVs. Food came out pretty quickly.

I’ve come here a few times and it’s not bad. It’s decent«tex mex» food and beer selection. It’s nothing fancy but they have great service and it’s pretty quick. The only thing I don’t care for is the cheese dip. It’s a little too liquidy and essentially just falls off the chip. Food isn’t pricey which is usually the main reason I end up here. They have nachos which are a huge portion and you can add your choices of meat. Tacos, burritos and the standard tex mex food are all on the menu.

Juanita Greenberg’s is like the Charleston version of Chuy’s(the chain Tex-Mex place). It’s Tex-Mex food with quirky/fun/tacky décor and frozen margaritas. I was desperately craving Mexican(translation: hungover) and wound up at Juanita Greenberg’s after LaHa Mount P was closed. LaHa it is not. Juanita Greenberg’s is vibrant, clean, and Tex-Mex rather than Americanized Mexican. The frozen margarita wasn’t the best I’ve had, but considering the fact I hadn’t had a margarita in a month I’ll take what I can get. I ordered the Nachos Royale with chicken and the server warned me it was large. I said that was fine because I figured I could swing the $ 10 nachos even if I didn’t eat them all. Holy plate of nachos Batman! It’s seriously like a 12″ pizza tray with 6″ high of nachos piled on it. They were very good and probably enough to feed a Super Bowl party. My gentleman caller had the chicken quesadilla and described it as «meh.» There were a lot of families when we were there mid-afternoon on a Sunday. I can kind of see how it lends itself to that in between cheap food and the ability to accommodate large parties. I would go back to Juanita Goldberg’s, but I would more likely get the Nachos Royale to go for my next football party.

The atmosphere is pretty quirky. Our table ordered the specials they were running for the day-chicken enchiladas with rice and beans & tacos(gyro, shrimp with pineapple salsa, and chicken bacon ranch). The actual chicken enchiladas were delicious. The meat was seasoned and cooked quite yummy! The rice was just okay and the black beans were just straight out of a can awful! The tacos were pretty large and yummy!

Cool and interesting space. I came here late night. Even though it was almost 1am, the bartender was friendly and attentive. I like how they have a bar that connects the outside sitting area. So if you’re sitting inside and have a friend smoking outside, you can basically speak to each other across the bar. There is a small upstairs with a pool table. Also pretty cool because you can look down into the bar area and watch the drunk people acting a fool. They also have live music here but I missed out on that. I’ll come back for sure and try the food as I’ve been reading that it’s quite the bang for your buck.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was mostly empty. Despite there only being about 3 other tables of people, we still had to wait a good 20 min for a waitress to appear at our table, and even that was mainly due to us asking someone else who worked there if there was anyone who was supposed to be waiting on our table. We started with something called the Trifecta(Chips with sides of guacamole, salsa and cheese dip). For a place with the word Nacho in their name, they should have better tasting chips. These were clearly store bought, cheap, and overly salty. The salsa was bland, the cheese dip was runny and the guacamole just wasn’t great. I had Quesadillas, which are generally pretty good no matter where you go. They were alright, but honestly the ones I had 2 nights earlier at Poe’s Tavern(which is clearly not a mexican place) were significantly better. My other 3 friends also had alright, but bland and boring food. I cant think of a single reason to come back here, and advise everyone to just go somewhere(anywhere) other than here.

Nachos come in three styles: 1. Ballpark nachos: stale chips with yellow«cheeze product». These taste good only in ballparks, and only if you ask for triple jalapenos. 2. Fancy nachos: Six to twelve large chips individually loaded with melted real cheese, sliced meat quality pico de gallo, and usually a sauce or two drizzled over the top. My favorite type of these was served at Cantina Laredo, of which there are several throughout Texas. 3. ‘Pile’ nachos: Usually served in Tex-mex restaurants with brightly colored, lovably tacky interiors. They consist of a pile of chips and innumerable toppings which usually require a fork because of chip-wilt. They are third in line of perfect hangover Mexican food after greasy breakfast burritos and chimichangas. Juanits Greenberg’s serves some of the best ‘pile’ nachos I’ve had. They serve theirs with a cheese sauce, but not one of those nasty canned sauces(like my beloved ballpark nacho). It’s a white sauce that actually tastes like cheese. The platter is embarrassingly large and can easily be shared by two eaters who don’t rank places on how much food they can get per dollar spent. I had pretty low expectations of this place going in, but was pretty damn happy with the nachos. The service was a little weak but not heinous. I’ve spent over 20 years of my life in Texas and Arizona, so I have high expectations of my Mexican food. I really haven’t found any acceptable Mexican restaurants here to my tastes, but when it comes to ‘pile’ nachos these are the best I’ve ever had. I’m not sure about the ‘lime flavored margaritas’ on their menu… I don’t think I’ll ever be brave enough to try one. But you can expect to see me here on football weekends diving into a pile of nachos and a cold beer.

Updating my review. I just can’t go more than 3 stars here. The food is phenomenal, but the service just seems… Off. This visit started with a nonexistent greater, so we took a table near the bar and were promptly ignored until we flagged down the greeter who finally decided to return from the back. A conversation about how the basic waiter/patron relationship worked ensued that resembled a scene from the Dazed and Confused. Finally straight, a waitress was finally involved and the meal went on as normal. The live music was great and the resident«guy who is stuck in the 80s» provided humor for us throughout as he managed to work not only the soundboard but the entire room with his Kramer hair and signature flaming bowling shirt.

I have to say I have been putting off coming to this location Juanita’s since moving to Mt. Pleasant after having just OK experiences at the one downtown. Unlike the downtown location this one felt a lot friendlier, cleaner, didn’t smell like beer & puke, and had a very comfortable vibe to it. I’m really glad I gave it a shot last night. We really enjoyed the live music, comfortable inside/outside patio, cheap food, and good selection of beers on the menu. Service was also an A+ here last night; both of the bartenders were eager to help us out and keep our drinks full while we enjoyed the band playing. For those looking for a deal they have a great happy hour with special on margarita’s and food; not to mention the 2 tacos & a PBR deal for $ 6 all day everyday.
