The food is excellent from sandwiches to soup. Their baked goods are delicious, especially their cookies. Their service is fast for a sit down restaurant. The location is great in downtown Mount Pleasant. I recommend it to all my friends. They are a bit pricey, but the quality of food is worth it. Offers great food in a college town.

It’s exactly what you want it to be. Just need to give out a different kind of chips.

Love their sandwiches, a little pricey but worth every penny. I’d tell you the best sandwich but they are all so good!

When it comes to sandwiches, I love lots of spice and lots of sauce! My sandwich, the Saucy Cowboy, was definitely saucy, with just the right amount of spice and sweet combined! I love Applewood smoked bacon and they were not stingy with it! The ambience was wonderful, with Christmas music lightly playing overhead, not too loud to where you could still talk and hear each other, but they kept us in the Christmas spirit! They have these really awesome lamp posts decorated with garland and brick walls that give the place a unique character! I will definitely be back!

I’ve rarely been to a place with this many sandwich choices, both lunch and breakfast, I spent a long time deciding but I ended up with the green eggs and ham, which was really good, though what everyone else got looked good too, I really wanna go back to try some of the other sandwiches, also had a cookie which was big and good, they have a bakery to boot, my favorite restaurant in Mt Pleasant so far

Love the names of the sandwiches here, take your time & review all your choices! It can be a little expensive but it is worth it to have a good hardy homemade lunch. There is a little something for everyone, even the pickiest of eaters. The chicken dumpling soup is absolutely fantastic! Helpful Hint: Avoid the noon rush & if the street parking is at capacity, try parking behind the building & using the back entrance.

I can’t order anything but the Mudhoney… I have cravings for it and come here every time I make to town. It would be nice if they had some kid options…$ 7.50 was a bit pricey for a grilled cheese for my 3-year-old. Love the atmosphere and menu and location!

Came here for lunch before the CMU football game. First of all, loved the location. Very nice historic downtown area. The menu was quite large and the atmosphere was very nice. The food was very good but a bit pricey. This was actually one of the more expensive meals we had while in town but still worth it. I would certainly come back if in town.

My chicken salad croissant sandwich was so delicious. Others at the table ordered philly cheesesteak wraps, and a hamburger, all were excellent and fresh. We were here at lunch time on Sunday and they were packed. The tables are first come, first served. We will come back for sure.

Love the chicken fielding if i’m not mistaken. The service is prompt. It gets busy if there are events or big games at central. Always recommend it, just you will smell like food so do not wear something fancy. Service is excellent, they forgot to put in my order once. After asking for it they apologized and gave me a free sandwich.

Hands down the best meal I have had while in Mount Pleasant for the weekend. The food was amazing, the service was even better. Called ahead with a group of 20 of us and didn’t even ask for a reservation and they reserved the whole back room for us. People had highly recommended it to us and they were spot on. Great crew and great food. I highly highly recommend this restaurant! Shout out to Kat and her manager– they took great care of us!

Huge and diverse menu. I have been here 3 times, and had 3 different sandwiches. I was impressed by every one. Tom Pesty and Southwest philly are some of our favorites!

Went here on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast, super concerned that we would hit the students coming in. We had nothing to worry about; very efficient front counter with paper menus and lots of chalk boards to tell you what they offer. I had a breakfast tortilla and my husband had scrambled eggs. Service was pleasant and fast, my food was delicious as were my husband’s eggs. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars, is my husband asked for over easy eggs and they said their license required them to break the yolks on the eggs. I am not sure what that is or why that is; but it does not make a lot of sense to me. Anyway; besides that-this is a great alternative to a stuffed campus town breakfast stop that offers fresh and well made food.

More than bakery, it is a café/deli. It has a super huge menu of sandwiches. I tried the daily special which was a chicken wrap. You can get it with a salad, soup or bread bowl which is a good deal under $ 10. I chose salad. I should have asked if it was whole wheat wrap — i paid for it next day. It is bang in the downtown mt pleasant and has that good neighborhood feel that i like. Reminded me a bit of obryonville.

This place is groovy! Fresh food made to order in a bona fide college campus eatery. Made me feel like enrolling at CMU ! Lots of choices for breakfast or lunch, easy on the wallet, youthful energy in the place… it was great. Five stars would be a bit ridiculous, but this place certainly deserves its four star rating and solid reputation.

Max & Emily’s is one of those places that I miss the most about Mt. Pleasant. I come here for lunch EVERYTIME I am back in town. There is something for EVERYONE here… with about 100 different sandwiches, it’s impossible not to find one you’ll like. I brought my boyfriend here when we went up to MP for the weekend, and he’s hooked now too :) P. S. Their bakery items are to die for too… I’m madly in love with their lemon poppyseed muffins.

Breakfast anytime, more sandwich choices but a bit over-priced. Avoid the Chicken(Lump)ling soup. Consistency of pudding.

Do you like sandwiches? Do you like good sandwiches? Do you like having 50 or so choices on the menu? If yes, you will like this place. It’s an unassuming deli with great sandwiches. I had the cubano and it was one of the best I’ve had outside of Florida. The cheesy broccoli soup was fantastic. I mistakenly ordered a bread bowl along with my sandwich and chips. It was too much. But it was all fantastic. I didn’t have any of the bakery but it smelled great.

Came in with extremely high hopes for this place, and left disappointed. My girlfriend and I ordered the special of the day, two soups, and two drinks. Which came out to roughly $ 30. The soup was very good, and so was the sourdough bread bowl that it came in. The special, however, was a different story. Our sandwiches came out in tortilla wraps, even though the special said grilled sourdough bread. We sent them back and was told the special was written wrong. So I asked to have what was on the special board then, because that is what we wanted. The sandwiches we got back had the wrong meats and cheeses, and were on toasted white instead of the sourdough I specifically requested. Basically I paid $ 30 for two soups and a sandwich that I could have made at home with the food in my fridge. Probably won’t be back here again. Edit: as we were leaving we took our plates up to the counter. On both of our plates there was old food on the bottom of them. Talk about disgusting. Definitely will not be back here again. Max and Emily’s has left this Chippewa severely disgruntled.

Just had lunch with friends here and we all love this place and their foods. Probably we came here around noon and it’s CMU homecoming this week, so the place was pretty crowded. Coffee was out quickly. Other than that, I will definitely visit this place very often! Love their spicy mayo sooo much.
