Mount Pleasant Library

Soo I’ve been to this location a handful of times however I will not return. Not one to ever leave a bad review however such a negative experience something needed to be said. Lost my library card and came in to ask for a replacement. After being giving a slew of questions and asking for a replacement of 2 dollars, I still had to show not only my license but another bill showing I was a resident. Not a huge deal however feel I shouldn’t have to explain how I lost the card 3 times over to you in front of everyone. If I ask for a replacement please don’t take the lazy route and just print a card.
Then after logging into the computer and looking to print stuff walking up to the counter, I asked if they printed color. The response, «We do 25 cents.» K cool. I asked if it was «prepaid on library card or at the machine?» Response was I kid you not, «You can go to the customer service side and can figure it out over there.» While this woman is literally chatting with staff!
So while I personally have worked for a library and am about as laid back as they come, I have never treated a custodian in that mannerism. I know it can be stressful to print a card, or to answer a printing request while on Facebook and chatting with coworkers; however this is highly disappointing coming from a fellow librarian myself. I will not return and advise to go elsewhere.

A great place to get work done with their private work spaces and free wifi. I have found that it can be difficult to get certain books at the Mt Pleasant branch but the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Although lacking in aesthetic charm or inviting comforts, the Mount Pleasant Branch Library is still a valuable asset to the East Cooper community. They are constantly adding the newest books to their shelves. Perhaps even more impressive or unexpected is their collection of movies, documentaries, and TV series on DVD. Any books or videos they don’t have on hand, can often be acquired within a few days by means of an easy-​to-​use online reservation system. The hardworking staff is always available to help you find what you’re looking for.
