Wife bought 360 minute Swedish massages from Groupon in April. Finally got an appointment that was kept in September. Good massage from Jenny. Tried to get the other 2 appointments set up ever since. No responses. Called Groupon today. They refunded the $ for the other 2 appointments. Yea, Groupon, forget Jenny at Semplice Bodywork. Go elsewhere.

All these reviews would have been helpful before I prepaid for services. Bought three massages back in APRIL and have been unable to actually receive one despite being scheduled every month. Like others, every night before my massage I would get a text, sometimes after 10 pm, cancelling for the next day. This has happened a total of 7 times now. Not sure how this shady operation hasn’t been shut down yet.

Terrible experience. Bought a Groupon and then tried to book. Took months to get an appointment and then she canceled on me via text the night before! Will be looking for a refund asap.

Groupon was really great about refunding after they heard about my TERRIBLE experience with Semplice Body Work.

As the rest report, this young woman should not be in business. I purchased a 3 massage package groupon this spring. The first appointment was cancelled due to her illness the morning of the appointment. Unfortunately, her next available time according to her online site was 4 weeks later. That appointment ended up being a no show. When I contacted her, she stated she had car trouble and please reschedule. Once again her online booking showed no availablility for another 4 weeks. It would be impossible for me to get my 3 massages before the groupon expired but of course she has her $$. I contacted groupon and asked for a refund as this person has made no effort to make good on any of her commitments. She continues to sell groupons and advertise heavily. Beware

I highly recommend NOT visiting this therapist. Just as the other reviews mention, she is riddled with«emergencies» and therefore cancels. She canceled my appointment the night before I was scheduled and instructed that I text her to remind her to reschedule for alternate time. She then canceled my rescheduled appointment 3 hours before my arrival time, and again instructed that I text her to remind her to reschedule for alternate time. Why is it the client’s responsibility to remind this«business owner» to do her job? This«business» is a joke.

I wish I could give lower than one star. First I’m disabled and some how there was a mistake with my appointment being made for the wrong day, supposedly. I arrived and was ignored by woman in salon for over 30 minutes as I was texting and calling Jenny, no answer. I finally asked the woman ignoring me, if I was even in the right place. I thought I had been scammed. The woman said she couldn’t help and a customer got rude with me saying it was her appointment time so I left. Jenny text me about the error and said she would see me next week. The following day out of no where, I got a text she would not honor my groupons. Said to contact them to get money back. She proceeded to text me nasty messages, harassing me because I said I felt discriminated against. This is the craziest thing I have dealt with, this is one unprofessional business owner. She also said she didn’t care about my review she had other good ones, have copies of all this. Stay away… bad news

I was in Charleston visiting a friend and had a stressful month, so was looking to unwind with a massage. Semplice Body Work was very close to my friend’s apartment, and I was able to confirm an 8:30pm appointment with Jenny a few days later as I saw they had a Groupon running. As soon as I confirmed, I purchased the Groupon. That was June 1st. On June 2nd, Jenny texted me asking to move my time to 7pm. I said this was fine and canceled my dinner plans. On June 3rd at 2pm, Jenny texted me to say she had an emergency and had to cancel. She told me she would reschedule. I reminded her I was only in town for a few days, and I had quite a few appointments already scheduled for the next few days. I told her my availability(Thursday 2pm-4pm and Friday after 2pm) and she offered me 9am and 5pm on Thursday, which I was unable to do. She was very apolgetic, but unwilling to do anything more than say sorry. After turning down other company’s available times, I am left without a massage and now I have to fight with Groupon to get a refund. I have a very stressful appointment tomorrow, so this message meant a lot more to me than just a way to unwind. Further, Jenny made some very strange statements via text after letting her know I’d be taking my story to Unilocal: «if you feel you must do your worst to female owned local business, then please do, and also realize that it does not concern me.» A) as a business owner, your online reputation SHOULD concern you. Canceling an appointment with a customer five hours in advance is bad business, and of course I’m going to Unilocal about it. You should feel embarrassed to have this review on your page. B) Prior to this text, I never said anything about her being a female owned business. I believe Jenny is maybe a good masseuse, but a bad business owner as she can’t keep a scheduled appointment. That is not gender specific, I never said it was, and it’s rather insulting for her to insinuate that my frustration has anything to do with gender. TL;DR could not have been a worse outcome. Time wasted, money spent, and no massage given.
