Hands down the best beef brisket ever! Show up hungry and leave stuffed! Be ready to stand in line.

Outstanding food. Brisket is the closest I have found other than in Texas.
This is my third visit since I live almost 45 min away.
Only problem this visit was that a different person was waiting on us. She was downright hateful. My mother even said that the lady would run off customers. I noticed her same bad attitude continued as we sat to eat our meal. Maybe just a bad day but it would serve well to get the other lady back. The other lady was there but was washing dishes. Really need to switch that up so a friendly person is waiting on folks.

Great Bbq place. We had the brisket plate and Texas hash and peach cobbler all of which was great. There is a butcher onsite you can buy meats, sauces and seasonings there

Always top notch quality meat products. The staff are super helpful and they will custom cut/​trim any selection for you. just ask. In the freezer case, the Italian sausage is great. wife is Italian and gives it a thumps up.

1^st trip to Shaffer’s and won’t be the last. Awesome true Texas brisket! Delicious. Service is a bit slow, but it is worth it. Also, they hit the mark with a really good selection of sides, which most BBQ miss. Love the Texassee sauce too. Worth the trip for sure!

Best brisket I’ve ever had. Hands down. If you’re looking for a place that is really GOOD (not just good for L-​burg) this is it!
The attached grocery sells great local cheeses, hormone-​free local beef, many kinds of jerky & will butcher meat to order.

Some of the best beef brisket I’ve ever had and the potatoes are amazing! The ladies back in the restaurant are awesome! They’re so sweet and make coming a pleasure. The portions are more than enough for the prices and beyond tasty. If you’re down in Summertown this place is a must!

Great BBQ if you go into the store and get it. But don’t ever consider them for catering jobs because they can’t handle it. We asked them to cater a BBQ and gave them 6 weeks notice. We negotiated all the main courses, appetizers and desserts for a group of 50, went back and forth on quantities and side dishes and two weeks before the event were told that Frank Schaffer had changed his mind and wouldn’t do the job. He initially lied and said it was because we missed the deadline for the deposit by one day and they had booked another job for that same date (even though he never gave us a deadline for making the deposit) — but finally his office admitted that they didn’t want to work on Sunday. Even though they always knew our event was on a Sunday! Gee, thanks for telling us two weeks before the party. So again, they are great at BBQ but bad at business ethics.

I moved here from Austin Texas and have been to many of the best and we’ll known Texas BBQ places. Shaffer Farms Texas Bar B Q Restaurant definitely follows the Texas BBQ traditions and offers a solid Texas BBQ brisket with decent bark and ¼ inch penitration of the rub into the meat — same penitration as the best Texas BBQ. The brisket was more of the leaner cuts — moist, but not as moist as I prefer (I usually order the moist brisket in Texas but Shaffer Farms only offers one version of brisket). If this place was in Texas it would do well with the brisket BBQ. I also tried the pulled pork — excellent. I really enjoyed the BBQ sauce, it was a Tennessee BBQ style with a twist of Texas spice style — I really liked it. On the sides the creamy Cole Slaw was excellent and the potato ‘Ranch’ style potatoes were amazing — I have never had anything like it and I highly recommend order a pint or quart to go.

If there were six stars this place would get them. I’ve lived in middle TN my whole life and the number of places that I would drive over an hour to eat at I could count easily on one hand. This place is special. The ONLY perfect combination of Texas style brisket, spare ribs, smoked sausage coupled with TN style pulled pork around. The brisket and spare ribs are the best I’ve ever had. Everything is cut and cooked on site. In fact, the place used to have the meat processing on site also. The sides are all amazing. The sweet ladies serving the food are great. Might I also add that this place also has a full service butcher shop that would rival any other.

We can’t say enough good things about this new find. Good food great people. Honestly, the best BBQ we have had.

OMFG… I watched the juices cascade out as our brisket was being hand sliced. It smelled so good I asked for a taste. I could not resist. We ate brisket for two days and I was sad when it was gone. DO NOT pass this by. It’s a kind of non descriptive building but if you’re in the middle of nowhere on 43 near Mt Pleasant TN. you are there! Going from Lawrenceburg to Mt Pleasant it’s on the left and visa versa on the right. It says «Texas BBQ» on the building. ENJOY!

Great eats! Some of the best BBQ around! Must try the «Texas Hash» with brisket if you go! It’s wonderful!!!

The best BBQ in Tennesse. Bold statement, I know. but go and you’ll see why.
Their dishes are several simple choices, with several classic sides to choose from. I always go for the Mac n’ Cheese with beans for the side.
The brisket is to die for, the ribs are amazing, and the bbq is just right. You see how authentic the place is when you look out back and see them cooking/​roasting away. Its smaller than normal, so if it were to get packed I could see it being hard to find a seat. I think its really neat how its attached to Custom Meats, which has a ton to choose from in case you needed some for groceries.
No real complaints here.

Awesomeness!!! Never had anything here i didn’t like. You will love it… unless you are a vegetarian. Lol I think it should be one of those places they high light on the food chanel.

Not being a BBQ fan, I was truly impressed. Very good, fairly priced, fast service. Also picked up some meat to grill, can’t wait for dinner tonight.

Best brisket in middle Tennessee. Ranch style cheesy potatoes. Great lemonade. Smoked sausage. All with generous portions.

GREAT Texas-​style brisket. Not heavily advertised. We just happened upon the place. Worth looking for. Be sure to try the corn fritters with your meal. And half tea/​half lemonade makes a great drink. Neat meat market in same building as the restaurant.

They have an impressive meat selection, and it smelled good as soon as I hit the door. They said people come from all over, and I could see why. This place is a must visit. They have a Barbecue Restaurant in the same building, and it is excellent! You have to try the ranch style potatoes because they are the bomb. The lemonade was also great. It’s an easy drive on a nice Saturday.
