WARNING: DONOTUSETHESCRATCHPAD!!! For someone who does invitations for a living they are the most careless people and do not pay any attention to detail. All of the staff is rude and completely useless. I had invitations made with this store and they messed up the proofs FOUR times, and then tried to charge me for their mistakes! No one ever apologized to me for their careless mistakes but instead tried to blame the mistake on me(irrespective of the fact that I sent them all of the corrections on the first proof — and the invitations still turned out wrong). I would never give them business again nor would I ever recommend anyone ever use them.

I have visited the Scratch Pad twice now; once for thank-you notes and another time for my sister’s birthday gift. It took me forever to decide both times because of the large selection of high quality, unique stationary. They also have little notepads, napkins, gifts, and a ton of festive, 8.5×11″ stationary for parties, etc. This is a great store for purchasing a hostess’s gift or for a member of a sorority looking for some Lilly. Any woman who appreciates the value of a thank-you note or a thoughtful letter would benefit from shopping here! They also have lots of stationary that can be personalized for graduation, weddings, and for young-professionals.

I really wanted to love this store. I really did. They have a great selection of stationery, but as other reviewers have said, horrible customer service. They have a corner on the market, as they are the only game in town, and it appears they know it. While I had a lovely experience when I ordered, the irritated person who only had to hand it to me was extremely rude and sarcastic.(So much for us being the friendliest city.) While I prefer to support small biz, Paper Affair or Paper Source would clean up in this area.

My good friend went in the shop today to purchase invites for an upcoming event. She was so disappointed in the lack of service from the 2 women working in the store that she came out immediately to call me. The short version: After my friend attempted to explain what she needed, one of the saleswomen was too busy to help… That is too busy gossiping with a colleague and annoyed that she was interrupted. The other associate eventually made one weak attempt to provide service with a quick comment — «we have some invitations over there and some over there.» Really, is that the best you can do???
