I came here when my trip to TJ Maxx came up empty-handed. I was looking for a gold clutch to go with a beautiful turquoise dress I found at their sister store, Butterfly Consignments. When I told the lady working there what I was looking for she said she had just the thing. And she did! It was the perfect vintage gold clutch! Yay! While I was there I took a look around and found black velvet Kate Spade kitten heels! When I was a little hesitant of the price she offered me a lower one. Awesome! Next time I’m back in town I’ll definitely be stopping by!

Awesome. Seriously, this place is fantastic. Julie and staff are so nice and helpful — they laughed when I said«hmm, no, that’s not really my style» in a split second AND they brought me things that I loved. I needed work clothes, so Mom and I went today(we are«shopping locally!» — ok, not in Atlanta in this case, but at our other home, the beach!). I scored big. It’s always a gamble when you go to a consignment store and I would put Victoria’s on par with Labels in Atlanta. Not as big of a store, but the same quality. My loot: *Brand new(!!!) Cole Haan boots– black leather, a 3″ heel, gorgeous. $ 138. That’s about half of what they’d be retail. *A St. John skirt — I know, I thought it was a label only old ladies like, too, and my mom didn’t even think I should try it on, but it’s very Chanel-esque in a snappy red tweed with the sweetest pleats! Perfect for the holidays. $ 90. *A sleek, professional charcoal grey BR skirt. $ 22, perfect condition. *A barita skirt with the MOST fun print. $ 24. Not a label I’m familiar with, but I fell in love instantly. * A couple of great shirts, one green(Ann Taylor loft, $ 19) and the other black and silky yet still work professional with a suit, $ 24. *The BESTBCBG wedge heels that go perfectly with the above mentioned green blouse and the Poleci skirt I also scored for $ 22. *A suit jacket by Peck & Peck that is hard to describe(a pattern, but not exactly a plaid) with the coolest silver buckle instead of buttons, and perfect to go with the green skirt and top already mentioned! Multiple outfits! A beautiful wool fabric, $ 38. *A Dooney & Burke bag that will be perfect for work — I never buy this brand but Julie brought it to me and with the Poleci skirt, blouse, heels… I know one of the outfits I will be wearing at work training next week! $ 103. It has compartments, a divider pocket and came with a sunglass case and makeup/etc pouch. *A beautiful pink shrug/wrap(it’s sort of like a scarf, but you can also button it into a wrap– it’s so cool!) — cashmere, $ 22. Oh, and Mom found the nicest pair of Ferragamo wedges — for $ 5!!! There were a few pieces I put back because we had to draw the line somewhere, but the cool thing is that the ladies asked us what we’d want them to keep an eye out for and put us into the system so we can get updates when they have things we might love! My parents live at the beach 90% of the time, so this is definitely something we were thrilled to be offered! Note: Victoria’s is owned by the same folks as Butterfly Women’s Consignment Boutique, in Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston.

I was actually pretty excited about checking this place out for the first time since I have heard so much about it from other consignment-teers, and it would been a great visit BUT the owner, or manager, or whoever the lady who was there the day I was there was ALLINMYFACE. Maybe being pregnant just makes you really nice.(hmm I always heard otherwise.anyway.). Now she wasnt being rude or anything like that, but when you are overly suggestive and asking the customer too many questions, not even giving them the opportunity to shop, to me, that can be just as detrimental to your shopping experience. Every freaking thing i picked up she felt the need to tell me how much she loved it or how it went with this or how it went with that. She asked if I knew this person or that person, have I ever visited this shop or that shop before, this is on sale that is on sale, did you look at this did you look at that, did you see this did you see that… AHHHHHH!!! I never had the chance to just look around without her constantly asking me questions or «seeing if I’m finding everything ok» every 10 seconds. I didnt want to just walk out because that would show how obviously bothered I was, so I just looked around for a moment more closing in on the front door and zipped out. The fresh air was PEACE! It is a nice shop with great stuff, but not a very fun shopping experience. Ill probably go back but bring someone with me so they can be the ones to be talked to death. Thumbs down to the aggressive sales tactics.
