I waited for 15 min past the opening time stated on the door and nobody ever came in. I figure if you’re not responsible enough or have too much going on in your private life to open on time then maybe you won’t be responsible with my clothing either. I took my business elsewhere.

It seems like it’s getting harder and harder for quality work at decent prices. Dropped off some items after reading the review. Five days later it was ready for pick up. I did pay slightly more that my usual place, but for the convenience of the Mt. Pleasant location, I thought it was worth it. There was a noticeable part in the stitching where I guess he ran out of thread, so it was slightly crooked in the middle. Three of the four items used yellow thread even though one of the three was black and white. Overall, seems par for service these days. I didn’t point it out because I wanted the items back and figured no one would really notice the flaws. And so for me, the hunt through the haystack continues…

Finding a good tailor is like finding a needle in a haystack. I called Mr. Shin to quote me a price for hemming a pair of jeans I bought that were too long. He told me $ 10 and that he could have them ready whenever I needed them(a quick turn-around time of a day and a half). And he delivered! They were ready as promised, and he did a great job. To boot, it was more affordable than other tailors I’ve been to recently(one place charged me $ 30 for a hem on a dress that only cost $ 50!). I would definitely go back to VIP Tailors and Cleaners and recommend to anyone looking for a good tailor in the area.
