Body & Brain Yoga has been the perfect compliment to my physical and spiritual growth practices. The classes have helped me rebalance my energy by opening up my chakras and meridians. I am much more aware of experiencing energy flowing throughout my body. My body feels more open with this work than it did with hatha Yoga(although I do like that yoga as well). From a spiritual perspective, this works nicely in conjunction with my Centering Prayer practice and my studies in A Course in Miracles. We are here, at this time and place, to rediscover our True nature — who we really are, and to make a difference on this planet. B&B Yoga utilizes our bodies to get to that place. Aside from the exercise classes, there are numerous programs contained within B&B Yoga, that you can participate in for your growth on all levels. This Mount Prospect Center, in particular, is and has been led by wonderful Center Managers who are extremely committed to target your individual needs. It’s a very thriving Center. I highly recommend.

I have been a member at Body and Brain Mt. Prospect for just about one year. When I started, I had so much stress that I felt anxious and fatigued much of the time. I was amazed that, after even one class, I felt much more grounded and relaxed, and also energized and clear headed. The combination of deep stretching, breathing exercises and meditation were awesome as they made me feel centered and whole! Now I’m «hooked» and recommend Body and Brain Yoga to all my family, friends, and any one I meet who is interested in feeling healthy, happy, and peaceful!

Great classes with stretching and meditation. Everyone is very kind and compassionate. Each day offers different classes and great teachers. I have healed from so many health problems and emotional issues going to classes and workshops regularly. I recommend the center for anyone wanting to feel better and more relaxed in life.

This studio was part of a group deal I found to try multiple places. I really liked the cleanliness and size. The vibrations class is essentially free form dance and then meditation.

I cannot be more happy with this place! As soon as I walked in Magdelena and staff were so welcoming. John has been the most amazing teacher. So patient, wise, and funny. So far my favorite class has been the Thursday night tai chi & yoga mix. But every class has worked wonders on my muscles and my mind. I leave classes relaxed both physically and mentally. I find myself craving to go and sad when my schedule won’t allow to get in a class. Love love love this place. Feels like family and a place where one can freely breathe.

This was one of the most unique group exercise studios I’ve ever been to. Saying group exercise feels incorrect after going for a little while though. The main focus is on changing your energy through exercise, balance, and meditation. You hear the word«yoga» and you might think of yoga mats, down dog, and other stretching poses. Things like that are certainly incorporated into the programs but those are simply means to an end. Feeling a change from the inside of your body to the outside is part of the focus. I said it was a unique experience because the content within the classes was different than what I am used to. My exercise history includes sports my whole life, running, and weight lifting. At Dahn Yoga, we did chakra tapping, brain wave meditation, traditional meditation, tai chi, and even free form dancing. First timers who are not familiar with Dahn Yoga may feel a bit insecure because of these untraditional American techniques. To get the most out of your experience, you have to let go of judgement and give in to how it works. Try to understand what they are trying to teach you and how it fits into your personal goals.
