To be fair, I ordered fish tocos. It was not a single piece of fish, but little pieces batter fried, so that it was more batter than fish. Perhaps there are other items on the menu that are worth a return trip, but there are some outstanding Mexican/Latin American restaurants in the area. I will not go back.

Oh man… I really wanted to like this place but I just didn’t. Served tostada chips, super hot green salsa and fish ceviche to start(this came with paper plates). Menu had a lot of options. I ordered chicken enchiladas. They tasted burnt or something as it left an aftertaste. Guacamole was a large portion but really bland. Server was nice and prompt with food and drinks. We went in on cinco de mayo and we were the only ones in there. I will not be going back.

Can only comment on the takeout. First experience at Las Islas Marias. Had the shrimp soup(without the shells). Very large serving! Easily enough for two with a lot of shrimp. Tasty with a nice heat but not overpowering. Would recommend the shrimp with cheese empanadas(the shrimp only just didn’t seem to have enough substance) too. A little pricey, but then again its sea food so we weren’t expecting to pay fast food prices or anything. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu! M.P. needs more restaurants like this!

I really want to give this place more stars!!! Went for dinner again today. Food was excellent as usual but the service continues to be terrible. Come on already. The place can be a gem in M.P. STEPITUP!!!

The place is as clean as a whistle, and the space is used very well. I like the bright colors, and the furnature is comfortable. The service was good, and the menu was big enough without being overwhelming. Guacamole came out with a very strong lime taste — so much that it was distracting, and stealing the spotlight from my beloved avocado! Boo. The main dishes were tasty and not army-sized. It is refreshing to get a normal portion once in a while! Things started to change right after the entrees were delivered. A very VERY loud mariachi band appeared and«rocked the place» for a little while… and then… the spanish karaōke. The LOUD spanish karaōke filled the room and put us into warp mode toward the door. I am normally all for loud music, but this place does not have a shred of fiber in the décor — –so it’s like an echo chamber. Turn it down, or post an entertainment schedule on the front door/window next time, k?

Was excited to try this place, as i am always wanting to try any Mexican place i have not tried yet. My first impression upon entering is that i stumbled into a Mexican dance club. The music was so loud that i could hardly hear my wife when i called her to see what she wanted. I am all for a lively place, but if i had come there to eat and not get takeout i would have left. But onto the food, which is more important anyway. I got the steak burrito, as that is a good way of seeing how good the place is to me. It was by far the worst burrito i have ever had, and that is no small feat. The meat was crispy and burnt. Like it was cooked a couple of days ago, left on the grill the whole time and then scooped into the shell. OK, so strike two. Now the restaurant serves mostly seafood dishes, so i guess i should not have expected them to have a great burrito… but i should, because it is a staple item that all Mexican places have, and is usually pretty easy to get right. So i ordered my wife the shrimp diabla. The shrimps were on the small side, and were most likely still frozen when placed into the sauce, i could tell by the texture and taste… rubbery and tasteless. The sauce had a bit of spice to it, but was so lacking in flavor that i would not be surprised to see that it was just a spicy tomato sauce. Such a let down. Would not go back, as nothing was good at all, and there are so many good Mexican places around that there is no need to waste your time here.
