Dr. Smoron is wonderful. We were very pleased with the entire process of my daughter’s braces. Her teeth look great! From the first consultation back in mid-​2014 to the final removal of the braces this past December. This office is very warm and welcoming — EVERYONE is so professional, friendly and kind. My daughter looked forward to her appointments and enjoyed changing the color of her bands at each appointment. They provide you with exactly what the treatment plan will be and at the end of the process they will even monitor for wisdom teeth that need to be removed in a few years. So glad we were referred to Smiles by Smoron.

My experiences with Smiles by Smoron have been nothing but positive. I was referred to him by my other orthodontist when I moved back to Mount Prospect from southern Illinois. I used inOvation clear braces at the time. Fortunately, we were able to pick up right where we left off in terms of the adjustments needed to finish up my treatment, which lasted about a year. Dr. Smoron and really all his staff are really nice. You check in electronically when you get in. It always feels so personal because they have a screen where they acknowledge your visit, whether you’re getting an adjustment, getting braces on, or getting them off. That’s always kind of nice to see. They have brushing stations so you can get all cleaned up before any kind of adjustment/​placement, which is nice because I’m always paranoid about having eaten, etc. I really enjoyed my experience there.

Prior to choosing Dr. Smoron, I performed extensive research in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago for an orthodontist that I could trust… being that this was my second go around with braces.
Dr. Smoron went above and beyond my expectations (and my expectations were high) for my treatment. Over the years since I had braces the first time, my teeth started to drift and my jaw adjusted a bit. While interviewing other Orthodontists in the area, a couple doctors went so far to say that I required jaw surgery to correcy my bite. Clearly, 1 ½ years later, and after treatment with Dr. Smoron, this was not the case.
Dr. Smoron’s method for correcting my bite was innovative and carefully planned out. It allowed me to avoid jaw surgery and still achieve the smile I was looking for.
Dr. Smoron explained the his plan for my treatment in intricate detail (as an engineer, this is something that I appreciate), and I am happy to say that 1 ½ years later, it went exactly as he said.
I had an appointment with Dr. Smoron at least every 2 weeks, and I was very pleased that not once did I wait in the waiting room past my scheduled appt. time. More often than not, I was brought back early, and was on my way home much sooner than expected.
My case was somewhat unique in that I moved to Texas towards the end of my treatment. Being that I did not want to pick up treatment with a new Orthodontist in Texas, Dr. Smoron went so far as to schedule off hours appointments to help me finish treatment prior to relocation.
I honestly cannot say anything bad about Dr. Smoron and his wonderful staff. I really did enjoy my time there, and while I won’t go as far to say I miss braces or having someone working on my teeth on a bi-​monthly basis, I will miss the Dr. Smoron and his very friendly team.
I highly recommend Dr. Smoron and his team to anyone in the area.

Do not go to this orthodontist!
I went there about 3 years ago, with high expectations. I wanted to get Invisalign to improve some minor flaws of my teeth. One of my top front teeth stuck out a little more than the other. Also, I wanted all of my top from teeth to align together perfectly. I didn’t need anything for my bottom teeth. Most people said it wasn’t needed at all.
Dr. Smoron talked me into doing «Red, White, and Blue»… basically a cheaper version of Invisalign. He said that we would only need to do the top teeth and he could fix them perfectly.
He asked me if I had any alignment problems (i.e. jaw popping, etc) and I told him that my jaw popped occasionally.
Well, after using the Red, White, and Blue aligners and going to Dr. Smoron, I am more than displeased. While I didn’t spend very much on the «work» he did, I did end up in need of more work and better alignment.
My two front teeth are straight, but none of my other teeth are different at all. Also, now my jaw pops all of the time, because what he did misaligned my top and bottom jaws. So, every time I eat crusty bread or anything chewy, my jaw pops so loud that my husband can hear it.
My teeth are okay, my jaw problem is horrible, and now I need to spend much, much more money fixing these problems.
