The Safeway in Mount Vernon is located directly off the highway. It is a very clean store and has great prices on morning pastries for groups. While Safeway is not my main store, I have benefited from its convient location and friendly staff many times this year. Good competition for Haggen.

I went into this store for the Starbucks. Starbucks is close on Christmas Day. The Starbucks workers were arguing for the silliest things. The barista was getting mad at the cashier because they couldn’t read the writing, but there was plenty of people so the cashier was rushed.

I’m giving 3 stars because I don’t want to damage the store’s business. I’m sure it’s a fine grocery store, as far as grocery stores go. What I would like to do is single out the deli and give them ZERO stars for the Chinese food. It’s disgusting!!! The ingredients in the fried rice(peas, carrots, etc.) were withered, wrinkled, and pale from overcooking. And the flavor didn’t taste like Asian fried rice at all. It tastes more like stove top stuffing in rice form. Normally I love broccoli beef, but my first bite of this broccoli made my face scrunch up. Not only is it severely overcooked and completely mushy, but the sauce(and there’s a ton of corn-starchy sauce) tastes weird. The egg foo yung … erm … put it this way, I’d have rather eaten a raw slab of tofu than whatever that disgusting disc was made of, and I’m not a big fan of tofu. Stink stank stunk. What a waste of $ 8.13. Blech! … Oh, and the woman behind the counter was a rude curmudgeon.

This is now our go-to place for small grocery purchases, especially on Fridays, when they offer their $ 5 Friday deals. Great for meat items, especially. My only frustration is the new mobile application, which forces you to move sale items onto your«club card» for you to get«club» prices. This can be an onerous process. For example, you might get an email for $ 3 off when you spend $ 20, but the only way that’s gonna actually occur is for you to find and activate the offer within the app. Last week, I couldn’t even get people who worked there to show me how. Hopefully, enough people will complain that this will become easier. But even if it doesn’t, I will still probably be spending some of my money here.

Just a simply massive location, by the Big Scoop ice cream. even has Jamba Juice and Starbucks inside. Gas station’s nice, $ 4.08/ gallon, what a deal by Canadian standards lol.

I don’t know about you, but being asked to TWICE if I want to donate to charity is highly agressive and counter to the customer service that Safeway prides themselves on. If a customer is asked at the Point of sale and or pin pad that is enough. But, to add further pressure by asking you as well is classless. The Safeway Corporation can donate themselves. Are they taking credit and tax write offs for the donations the community has raised for them? Shameful. Please stop the high pressure tactics and get back to selling a good product at a fair price.

Great store, really clean, friendly checkers and great selection. If you live in Skagit don’t mess with any other grocery store. As far problems with the gas pumps I’ve never had one.

Good luck trying to fill a C-Class at this gas station. The fancy pumps have this weird rubber gasket that kept tripping the pump to stop because it wouldn’t make a proper vapour seal. I would have been there for 20 minutes dribbling gas into the car since I couldn’t run it full speed. The attendant said he’s had the same problem with a different vehicle. I had to leave and find another gas station. Very irritating.

The store itself is perfectly fine, no gripes there overall… but their gas station is mediocre. Their card reader reads my club card just fine during the day, but at night I consistently get a «invalid club card» message at the pump. I refuse to fuel up there at night and pay the extra few cents, because at today’s prices($ 3.92 a gallon at the time of writing), every cent counts, especially seeing as I don’t anticipate the government putting a stop to their gouging of our finances anytime ever! Fix the card reader to recognize valid cards at ALL hours of the day, and it’ll bump you up a star if not two!
