Silver Spider

This place is incredible! It’s so fun to get lost and there is so much to look at in Silver Spider. They have funny, kitschy, quirky, pretty… everything…literally everything. They have books, cards, games, accessories, clothes, fun décor, children’s toys… It is amazing to explore in here.

My daughter attended Cornell College for a short time. She visited Mount Vernon on her own before school started and this is the one place in town she raved about. She took me there when we moved her into her dorm and I could see why.
They have everything — and everything is unique. I could walk around this place for hours. The owner has packed as much variety, novelty and fun into a small space as is humanly possible. I always find gifts, books, jewelry, nostalgic pieces, and things I never knew I couldn’t live without.
This place is a gem!

My husband, kids and I moved to Mount Vernon recently and my usual «outtings» as a housewife, while working around the hubs crazy schedule, have been limited to trips to the grocery store. This weekend, however, my mom came to visit so we left the kids with Dad and we girls went out. On our way home we stopped at the few places that are open on a Sunday and were just about to call it quits when we noticed the Silver Spider. We had so much fun inside this store that I cannot wait to go back. My mom and I love everything girly, silly, snort-​kind-​of-​laughter funny and everything in between. Mom found a really cute scarf and some light up princess wands (think light sabers but for girls) for my two daughters. We laughed hysterically at a silly fart sounds book and then amongst the coffee cups with cool sayings (love those!), the fun/​different jewelry pieces, I found a hat that I actually looked cute it (I’m not a hat person at all) and somewhere in the back with the kids stuff I found a variety of fairy/​princess dress up things that my girls would love. So two crowns for them, a hat for me, all for $ 5 a piece. I almost fell over. If you need something that is unique, fun and extremely reasonably priced… this just might be the best kept secret in the area. I cannot wait to go back :)

I usually hate shopping but this store wins me over — I could spend hours in here finding fun, cute & inspiring things, ranging from unique clothes & bags to hilarious cards & books to funny magnets & awesome toys and funky things for your home.

If you’re in Mt. Vernon, you simply MUST stop in to the Silver Spider.
Hands down one of my most favorite Boutique/​Novelty shops EVER. Anne picks out stuff from around the globe and brings her favorite thingies back to Mt. Vernon for all of us to sample. Of course the quantities are limited and her inventory is always changing, so make sure to drop in often.
