In less than one year, this place as cemented itself as a cornerstone of the community. I like Lattes and Maggie Mae’s is where I go to get a delicious and customized perk in the morning. The menu changes everyday, but features some daily or weekly favorites worth planning a week around(bacon jam grilled cheese sandwich on Wednesdays). Just a brief moment with the owners that are there serving you and you will understand what makes this place great. They take great pride in their business and take time to get to know every single customer that comes through the door. With the food being made with locally sourced ingredients, and the mix of locals that continue to find their way into the coffee shop despite its location being easily missed while driving past, a simple visit for a meal here will leave you with a pretty thorough impression of the community it serves. And if your lucky, you might walk in while one of the local patrons spontaneously entertain by playing the guitar or piano that is open to anyone that feels to urge to play.

We had an event catered by Maggie Mae’s. Everything was so good. My favorite was definitely the breakfast pizza. I never thought I would want a pizza with breakfast items on it. I was dead wrong. Stop in for some local goodies for breakfast or lunch.

Greetings y’all from Kentucky, A friend had mentioned this bakery that we need to go to about a month ago but due to scheduling conflicts we could never get out there. It just so happened that on my way back from an appointment in Cox’s Creek, Kentucky, I was craving sweets and remembered this place that my friend Marsha talked about going to. So I went. Well first of all, it’s not a bakery it is a café they do have 1 to 2 daily homemade sweets available for purchase but I believe their specialty is more breakfast and lunch sandwich specials. One of the actual owners of Maggie Mae’s was behind the register when I placed my order — he was extremely friendly and showed great passion for his restaurant, the quality of goods inside of it and the fact that most items were either homemade or Kentucky proud. He also let me know that the menu changes daily and to check their Facebook page to get the daily menu specials. So unfortunately two things occurred: #1 I did not retain the name of the menu item that I purchased and #2 When eating my sandwich, I was so consumed by its flavor that I could not stop even a moment to take a picture — sorry. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. Normally I would be like OK. When you merge cheese with bacon and put it between two slices of bread — how is that not gonna be good? And, how can anyone make something so simple better? Well let me tell you, at Maggie Mae’s they make this simple concept extraordinary. My sandwich, I believe was sourdough but I could be wrong with cheese, sliced tomatoes(which the owner suggested) crisp bacon and this really tasty jelly and on top of that the sandwich was placed on a panini press! This came with chips and a pickle but who is willing to waste calories and stomach space when this is your option!?! It was sooooooo good! I live in Fern Creek so this is basically a 7 to 15 minute drive for me depending on the time of day. Even if you don’t live close to Mount Washington I strongly recommend you take the drive. They have homemade biscuits it smells so good in there and they are serious about being Kentucky proud which already makes me a loyal fan. I will go back again and again!

At home on leave from the Air Force. On my way to my new assignment in Nebraska. My mom lives in Mt Washington and recommended I stop here for some coffee. It’s a *hole in the wall* kinda place but sweet and cozy when you walk in. Friendly staff and was greeted as soon as I walked in. I ordered a plain black iced coffee and it was really good. I know you can’t really mess that up but you’d be suprised. Highly recommend.

The nicest couple on earth run this café and make everything homemade. Biscuits and gravy are amazing. Bacon jam is addictive.

I highly recommend Maggie Mae’s! The customer service is fantastic! I don’t know how but they remember everybody that comes in. This is the best place in Mount Washington. Their menu changes daily so you get to try new things. They buy all local ingredients. I highly recommend a macchiato in the morning. The espresso is awesome! Maggie Mae’s is my favorite place to go, give it a try!

Great local coffee shop in the heart of Mount Washington, in the little shopping center next to Dairy Queen. Quaint atmosphere with a nostalgic feel with a vinyl record player.
