In response to the guy who thinks their sauce comes from a can, I know all of the workers personally and know how they make their food. The sauce is made from scratch and it is fresh. It is a sweeter sauce so it may not be up your ally. In regards to the cash only function. Yes, it can be a pain but they do not have a new system that takes credit yet. They have great reviews from the health inspector and I personally love their food. I’m not leaving a review because I know these people, I am leaving a review to debunk some myths I have heard around the community. A great majority of their food is homemade and these people care about the product they serve. All in all, I would recommend this business to at least try once. You will not be disappointed. My favorite thing to order is a pizza(dough is made nightly as well and delicious!) with olive oil crust and light cheese with sausage, spinach, onion and garlic. The baked mostaccioli is a must try as well.

I’ve had their pizza and several other italian dishes on several different ocassions as I live around the corner and well they just dont taste very good. Their sauce taste like it just came from a can. Another negative is they are cash only. The people however are very friendly. Haye to leave a local place a bad review but the 1st key to a good restaurant is good food.

Heavenly cheesy pizza! Great variety of toppings, and even the pastas are delicious. Service is fast and prices are very reasonable. Delivery times are often sooner than said. Great care is taken with food and everyone is very courteous. Pizza is very filling, and you’ll love every bite!

Husband and I were happy to have Filippo’s recommended to us by friends. Tried takeout first but when we went to get the pizza we thought the restaurant itself was pretty cute and resolved to dine-in our second visit. Only snag we have hit was the fact that they are cash only. I’m not bothered by this if I come prepared but it was frustrating to have to run to an ATM when we went in the first time. Service and food have been great. Generous portions, family-friendly ambiance, easy parking. I like Donnie’s if I’m in Decatur, Il Forno if I’m farther north toward Forsyth, and Filippo’s if I’m further south toward Mt Zion. Perfect pizza trifecta and the best 3 options for this area hands down.

4÷14÷2014 — We ate here for the first time ever and the last time. My husband and I both got the lasagne. It looked like noodles with cheese and sauce. It had two round things of meat well we think that’s what it was. As we stood there waiting to pay we noticed a man with his hand mashing up meat with no gloves and another one leaning on a pan of shredded cheese running his hands all in it and with no gloves on. Clearly just playing in it. We finely got to pay and will never be Back not after what we were served and saw.

So consistently delicious that we make the 30 mile trek about once a week. It is always an enjoyable experience. We most often order a pizza and fiery fingers, but the pasta is equally as good.

Filippo’s is a family style Pizzeria — Italian restaurant. It is not fancy and is very family friendly. The pizza is very good. It has a thick(but not too thick) crust that is crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. The sauce is good as are the toppings. I am not as fond of the Italian offerings. The lasagna is good but the marinara is a little sweet for my taste. Their salad is different. Iceberg lettuce with a tomato wedge, pepperoncini, provel cheese and creamy Italian dressing. It’s a tart and creamy salad. The provel makes it kinda salty so you may want to ask them to cut back but it is an interesting and unusual taste. Delivery times are long, so you will want to pick up. They have cold Peroni beer so waiting for a delicious pizza isn’t too rough.

My family loves their pasta. Most people love the pizza but we aren’t big fans of it. It’s not cheap but it sure is good. I’m guessing there are about. 20 – 25 tables. Its a great place to take the family. Make sure you try the fiery fingers.

Pizza = My life long addiction :) I was slightly nervous when moving to Decatur(from some bigger cities) that my freshly made pizza obsession would be forced to shift to a love affair with DiGiorno. Thankfully I have been proven wrong!!! Filippo’s makes some of the best pizza in the Decatur/Mt. Zion area. Their pizza is made fresh and contains all the things that I(and many others) love about pizza: thick(but not too thick) perfectly cooked crust, ooey gooey cheese, large/flavorful toppings, tangy tomato sauce… sooo good!!! Filippo’s(I believe) is an all around Italian restaurant so you can order pasta dishes, and the like, here as well; however being the pizza addict, as mentioned above, I doubt I will veer off this course, it is just too tempting :) P. S. Unless you order way in advance, or have the ability to quench off major hunger cravings and wait an hour or plus, I would do pick up and not delivery here.
